    Excellent trip

The trip was very well planned. The hotels were of a high quality and were all very centrally located. A nice mix of activities with some great food and wine. Everything went very smoothly due to our excellent guide Javier who led with Group with great enthusiasm and was a delight to travel with.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

The city of Salamanca was particularly special and staying in a hotel adjoining the Plaza Mayor. Segovia was also a delight.

What did you think of your group leader?

Excellent. Very attentive and managed the pace of the trip very well. Told us just the right amount of information at places we visited. Clearly had to ensure we were all at a place, but we never felt "counted in or counted out". He was always cheerful and appeared to be enjoying what he was doing.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Take some comfortable shoes as we did quite a bit of walking. If going in October take a warm jacket and a waterproof, the weather can change very quickly.....but you may also need a sunhat!

A great mix of food & culture

This is a tour to several Unesco World Heritage cities, as well as a few nights in Madrid, and two medieval villages between Segovia and Salamanca. There is a good mix of history and culture with adventures in eating Spanish style. This includes a one-star Michelin restaurant, a gourmet lunch in Toledo, and tapas & pinchos tours. Travel and transport between locations is well organized and easy.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

I was inspired by the creativity of some of the restaurants/chefs, and the variety of tapas/pinchos that we tried. I was also really moved by the visit to the organic wine producers. Their whole business is so focused on and in tune with their local environment, and the wines we tasted were great.

What did you think of your group leader?

Our group leader, Xavier, was fab. He was very patient, flexible, and extremely well organized. He was very aware of the needs and safety of everyone in the group.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Although this was a 'leisurely' tour, and the pace was leisurely, be prepared for several hours of walking every day. This was all worth the effort in temperatures of 30C and above!
