Trekking in Bosnia

I've just signed up for the trek through Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.  I've been doing some online research (probably a little late!) and there seems to be a big problem with land mines in Bosnia.  I'm quite nervous now about the trip.  Does anyone have any advice at all?  I've been told that the mines are more focused around the old war lines/zones.  Does anyone know where these are and whether they are anywhere near the trip I am doing??  I guess its safe, as its a professional guided trip, but doesn't stop me being a little concerned.

hi there

I'm the trip manager for this trip and was recently in Bosnia. I can assure you there is no risk from landmines on this trip. As you will have seen from your research, strategic areas were mined during the war. However, all mined areas are known to the authorities and our local guides, are clearly marked and so obviously are avoided.

Both Bosnia and Montenegro are beautiful countries, with vast, largely wild areas and wonderful National Parks that you often feel you have nearly all to yourself. I loved my trip there, I hope you do too.
