Sometimes frozen, sometimes less so, the Zanskar river provides a means for the local people to reach the town of Leh, to top up on food and other provisions during the Winter months... apparently, we were lucky, with the coldest winter in 18 years resulting in a mostly frozen trek! Here are a small selection of photos from the trek. We shuffled on ice, waded through the river, scrambled over the rocks, sometimes broke through the ice, and thawed out over hot soup and campfires. Val, I had the best time ever! Thank you. Also thanks to Chospel and Tangias and all the guys who helped us through.
