Do we really need Hiking Boots

My friend and i are wondering whether we really need hiking boots on this trip as it is not really a walking holiday as such.  Only one day where they could possible be needed but as we have good trekking trainers and would like to keep our luggage light could anyone who has been on this trip advise us please.

Hi there

Walking boots are recommended because they are better for walking in sand, especially in bad weather conditions. We appreciate they are very heavy so if you prefer to travel light, a good pair of walking trainers will be fine. It isn't that long a walk, so a bit of sand in your shoes is less of a pain than carrying the heavy boots for 2 weeks.

I hope this helps and I hope you have a great time!

Thanks for the reply.  I think I will just stick with my trainers as the boots are needed for just a short time.
