Helping children across the globe discover their world

Adventure2017 - Helping children across the globe discover their world

Travel is about those rewarding moments you’ll never forget, about discovering new places and learning about different cultures. Now, we’re offering that chance to children all around the world, who would otherwise go without.

This year, Exodus is committing to getting at least 2,017 children from all around the world on exciting, educational day trips. These are the children who need it most, who wouldn’t normally get the chance to enjoy the wonders of the world in this way. For one day at least, these children will have the opportunity to share the same adventures as our travellers.

For many of these children, it will be the first time they’ve ever left their villages or the place they grew up. They will be able to learn more about their home country’s culture and history, and see the iconic sites.

In Zambia, the children will be taken on safari in South Luangwa National Park to see wild elephants, most for the first time, and learn more about conservation and the environment. In Nepal, they will head out of the sprawl of Kathmandu city and into the Himalaya foothills to trek amongst the giants. In Ecuador, they’ll be taken to a bird refuge, to see owls, raptors and the endangered Andean Condor, including a flight demonstration.

These are just three examples of the trips we hope to organise all over the world. The trips will be run by Exodus leaders, who will share their knowledge and expertise for the benefit of the younger generation.

We believe that travel can be a transformative thing, a force for positive change in the lives of all involved. Our hope is that these day trips will be the inspiration that encourages these children to strive to protect and preserve the world as they grow up.
