Botswana and Zimbabwe Lodge Safari September 8th Departure

Hello, Anyone else on this trip?

Yes I have just booked for this having been "bounced" off a South African Safari which they are no longer running.

Loks an interesting trip!

hello folks. Yes, we are on this trip. Sounds amazing, really looking forward to it.

I have watched Jeremy Wade fishing for river monsters in the Okavango....don't think I like the look of the tiger fish!!😖🐟

Eek! well i won't be doing any paddling in there then!

Only two weeks to go now :) i see our group is fully booked, are you on the group flight from London?

Really looking forward to this trip....

Jude and Steve

Hi Jude and Steve,

Yes, on the group flight from Heathrow. Group demographics 5 male, 7 female. 3 in their 40's, 6 in their 50's, 3 in their 60's. (We are 2 of the 6 in their 50's)

Looking forward to seeing amazing wildlife....it's the little creatures I'm not so keen on! Fascinating as long as they are not hiding in my boots or crawling towards me.....🦂🕷🐜🐍

Look forward to meeting you both.

Karen and Kevin

I am one of the over 60 males, makes me sound a bit like an elephant! Will be on the London flight and looking forward to meeting you all!

Ooh no i don't like any creepy crawlies or bugs, especially flying ones that hit you at night! I apologise now for any hysteria!

I am really looking forward to meeting everyone 😁 we are flying down from Manchester to join the group flight.

Does anyone know if its likely to rain...i can't decide if a waterproof jacket may be required and also how cold it will be at night, any ideas???

Thanks, Jude 🐘🦏🦒🦁🐆🦓🐵

When I was last in Botswana it never rained. But blimey it was cold in the mornings! I remember having to wear 2 pairs of trousours! That why the spiders like to crawl into the comforting warmth of a nice pair of trainers or snuggle up in your socks.......

Hello Russboy111 and Jude and Steve.....i was going to take a small kag-in-a-bag.....just in case☂ opting for wearing layers. It does advise long sleeves for the evenings, so I have bought some skin so soft and jungle formula too! Also going to take a bag that I can seal tightly to store my boots and socks in!....unless I can get somebody to volunteer to check for spiders first! 🐜🕷🦂

Is anyone supporting the 'pack for a purpose'? I have looked at the website but can find no projects relating to the area we will be in?

I looked at the 'pack for a purpose' and could not find anything relevant either. When we went to India last year we visited a school which was part of the itinerary and took sweets, maps etc... i guess theres no harm putting a few things in your bag if you have room!

Does anyone already have their Zimbabwe visas? We were planning on getting ours on arrival....hope thats a wise decision!!!

I always pack a large number of pens. We will interact with kids in villages and at petrol stations , possibly elsewhere. They are all keen to get pens and they are better than sweets. Maybe that 1 pen could change a kids life?

I will be getting my visa at the airport/border. Quicker over there than at the Embassy in London. I guess we will need a multiple entry visa as we fly into Zimbabwe, then go the Botswana and then go back into Zimbabwe.
