Inca Trail & The Amazon Rain Forest 14th Sept

Just seeing who is booked on this trip. I’ve been on a lot of Exodus trips but not been to South America before so really excited! Would be good to swap packing tips.

Heidi

I'm going on the inca trail,  in comfort, Sept 13th . May be on the same trip as yourself? Penny

Hey Heidi! I'm on the same trip with you!

Hey Heidi! I'm on the same trip with you!

Hi Penny I think we are on a different trip as you fly the day before me.

Hi Anastasija!

I’m trying to work out what to pack at the moment. With hot weather, cold, weather, treks and city tours it’s taking some thinking about as don’t want to take too much!

Are you doing the Inca Trail or Moonstone Trek? I’m on the Moonstone Trek as booked too late to get a permit.

Really looking forward to it now and only 7 weeks tomorrow till we go!

Heidi

Have fun, you are right I'm on a different trip to you

im doing the Inca Trail. We’ve booked in November last year, so quite lucky to get the permits.

I’m leaning towards “athleasure” for most of my clothes as majority of the time we’re either trekking, in amazon or travelling. I’ll take a few items for city (a pair of jeans and a couple of tops).

the key here is to have layers and variety. Have short and long sleeve tops so you can pick which is best according to weather and a couple of fleece jackets (a thin one and a thicker one). Dont forget that it will be early spring and Cuzco (and while camping) will be quite chilly at night

Hope this makes sense!

Hi Anastasija & Heidi.  Im on the same trip too.  Looks like its going to be pretty good!

Yes layering will definitely be key. I did Kili last year and layering was pretty essential with the different climate zones!

Hi Nick, welcome to the chat!

Are you both flying from Heathrow?

Yep, Heathrow. On Latam flight via Sao Paulo. What about you?

Yes the same flight.

I'm trying to get a bit organised this weekend as done nothing so far! Are you taking your own sleeping bag and walking poles or hiring out there? They just take up so much room and we're quite restricted weight wise with the internal flights. Wondering whether to hire and just take a liner to save room.

I’m taking bag and poles.  dont take up much room.

im not taking malaria meds as the area looks okay.  But will take plenty of mosquitoe Repellant.  U?

U can book seats online free already.  I have reserved.

I'm not taking malaria meds either just lots of bug spray.

That's cool re booking on line already - I'm off to take a look!
