Mt Toubkal 28th October - 4th November

Hello fellow climbers! Looking forward to our trip - it will be my 4th Exodus holiday, so if you've not been with them before, consider that a vote of confidence.

Are you on the group flight from Gatwick or making your own way there?

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I’ve just signed up for the Mount Toubkal trek and will be flying from Gatwick on the 28th. This is my first Exodus trip and very much looking forward to it. I’ve not been to Morocco before so very excited about visiting here too.

Do you have any previous experience of similar treks? I’m a novice but I’m hoping it won’t be too much of a shock!

Best wishes,

Claire

Hi Claire

I do a fair amount of walking, but have never used an ice axe or crampons, so that will be exciting! I've been told it is very tiring, so need to stop thinking about doing some more exercise and actually do some...

We gain a lot of altitude very quickly in this trip - normally 500m gain per day is considered good for acclimatisation, but we are doing 1200m on the 3rd day followed by two 900m climbs - at least we are going back down to the base camp each time, which is low enough that we shouldn't feel it too badly there. I do have some diamox tablets left over from when I went to Everest base camp, so will take those along, however as it is only a short trip it probably wouldn't be worth getting any prescribed. If we eat and drink plenty we should all be fine.

See you at Gatwick!

Thomas
