Is This Trip for You?

Activity Level: 3 (Moderate)

This trip gives you the chance to go sea kayaking, canyoning, and diving (optional) in addition to biking and exploration on foot. There is also the option to try paragliding. A perfect trip for those who enjoy plenty of adrenaline along with sun!
No experience of the activities is required for this holiday and those that have experience will not be bored. However, to enjoy this trip to the full, a good level of fitness, skills and physique are required.
The itinerary is active and long periods of time are spent outdoors or in water. As so many of the activities are water-based, we do not recommend that non-swimmers book this trip. There is a certain amount of rough and tumble and a few minor cuts and bruises cannot be ruled out.

Following a review of all our trips we have categorised this trip as generally not suitable for persons of reduced mobility. However if you are a regular traveller on such trips, please contact customer services to discuss the trip and your personal condition.

Land Only Itinerary

  • Day 1

    Arrive in Kas

On arrival in Kas, you'll make your way (either via a scheduled group transfer or independently) to your boutique hotel, the Kas Artemis Hotel. The outdoor pool beckons to swim off any post-flight grogginess. Have a sundowner and wind down into holiday mode: the real adventure starts tomorrow.

  • Day 2

Jeep safari to some of the region's best beaches and canyons

You'll be collected at 9.30 am today; perhaps more of a lie-in than your average weekday. You'll be driven by jeep to Kaputas Beach to see the turquoise waters that epitomise this part of Turkey. As well as being ideal Instagram fodder, it's a real scene-setter for the trip ahead. Then it's on to a couple of traditional Greek villages where you'll stop for a late breakfast.

Then, you head further inland to canyon country. On foot, you'll pass through Gizlikent Gorge to find its incredible waterfall. Then explore further into Saklikent National Park to see the deep canyon carved between two mountains, before stopping for lunch in these spectacular surroundings.

A visit to Patara Beach follows, for another hit of that pure azure sea. There's time for a swim before the day wraps up around 6.00 pm and you return to the Kas Artemis Hotel.

    Meals included:
  • Day 3

Full day sea kayaking and discover a lost city

It's an earlier start this morning, heading out around 8.00 am to Ucagiz. This is where you'll get a briefing before hitting the water in a sea kayak, bound for Kekova island. If you managed to squeeze in a few extra gym sessions before your trip, you'll be grateful for the extra stamina today. Kekova island is the site of a sunken city, and you'll be able to make out the layout of houses beneath the surface. Lunch is in an enviable spot - the village of Simena, which is inaccessible by road. A hilltop castle overlooks it, and you'll catch views of the whole bay.

Rest up this evening. You'll need your energy for a challenging day tomorrow…

    Meals included:
  • Day 4

Go canyoning! Abseil, swim and plunge into pools of cool water

There's an adrenaline-charged day in store today, and you'll need a head for heights too. You're off to the mountains behind Kas, stopping at the Kibris Canyon. You'll be provided with all the gear and spend the day canyoning, swimming, abseiling and plunging into the cold river water.

    Meals included:
  • Day 5

Spend a day at sea exploring the beautiful Turkish and Greek islands

After yesterday's antics, the tempo is dialled down. Ice cold drink in hand and soaking up the sunshine, you'll set sail from Kas Harbour to explore bays and coves around the Turkish and Greek islands. You'll get a sense of the region's ancient history as you meander around the rocky outcrops. Lunch on board is fresh and leisurely. Bliss.

    Meals included:
  • Day 6

Hit the road on two wheels and cycle through the forests

Fuel up at breakfast, you'll need this morning's carbs to turbocharge an exhilarating day in the mountains. You'll spend the morning cycling along trails that ascend through the cedar forest, with the majestic Kibris Gorge within sight. A homemade lunch is served in a village house before you descend on fast roads back to Kas. Fitness not what it used to be? A guide and minibus are on hand to help out any stragglers!

    Meals included:
  • Day 7

Free day to choose from optional activities. A farewell dinner wraps things up

Today is yours to spend as you like. Ramp things up with options to paraglide or SCUBA dive, visit the local market, or if you'd rather enjoy some R 'n' R before heading home, take a Turkish bath.

In the early evening, we board the ferry for a 20-minute journey (plus customs checks) to the Greek island of Kastellorizo, also known as Megisti to the locals or Meis in Turkey. This is the most easterly of the Dodecanese Islands, and one of the most picturesque. After a stroll around the colourful harbour, enjoy a farewell dinner before returning to Kas.

    Meals included:
  • Day 8

    A final breakfast, then home

After a final breakfast at the hotel, the trip wraps up.

    Meals included:

Transfers Details

Exodus Edits offers TWO set airport arrival and departure transfers for this trip, for both Land Only and Flight Inclusive clients. These transfers will be to the Exodus Edits start hotel and from the end hotel, and will be on the date on which the tour starts/ends; transfers to other hotels in the same city and/or on different dates may attract an extra charge. The arrival transfers will depart Dalaman Airport at 15:00 and 22:00. The departure transfers will depart the Exodus Edits end hotel at 08:00 and 14:00. Transfers may be shared with other Exodus Edits customers on the same flight, or on a flight with similar arrival times. All those taking advantage of the airport transfers must provide full flight details for both arrival and departure in advance.

We know that the unexpected can happen. Your plane may get delayed, or things just don’t go to plan. If you miss your tour departure, check with the hotel to see if your tour leader has left you a message with details of how to catch up with your group. If not, call our emergency number (you will find it on the final joining instructions) and our team will help you. Don’t forget that you are responsible for any extra travelling expenses incurred if you miss your tour departure.

Remember, flights aren’t automatically included in your trip. If you’d like the Exodus Edits team to help you find some good options, give us a call on +44 020 8772 3837.

What to Take

Essential Equipment

  • Light summer walking shoes (or old trainers) for the canyoning (these will get wet, water needs to be able to drain away)
  • Comfortable walking boots or trekking trainers
  • Warm sweater and/or jacket for May, September and October departures
  • Swimwear
  • Sun cream
  • Lip protection
  • Sunhat
  • Water bottle
  • Sunglasses with neck string
  • Daypack (approx. 30 litres)
  • Clothes that you do not mind getting wet

Water Included

Plastic bottles are a big issue in many countries where recycling isn’t yet widely available; they often end up in landfill sites or get burnt, both processes are harmful to the environment and we would like to reduce our impact here. For your trip we provide an alternative to single-use plastic bottles in order to reduce the amount of plastic used. This means that safe drinking water will be available throughout so all you need to do is bring a bottle to re-fill along the way. Please add this to your packing list!

Practical Information

All nationalities require a full passport that must be valid for 6 months beyond the intended length of stay. It is your responsibility to have the correct personal documents and to obtain your own visa, if one is necessary, in accordance with the regulations of the country you are to visit. The information below is primarily for UK passport holders, and other nationalities should check with their travel agent or the relevant embassies. We are not responsible for the actions of local immigration and customs officials, whether at points of entry or otherwise, and any subsequent effects.

From 2 March 2020, nationals of Great Britain, the European Union Schengen area, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Poland travelling to Turkey for tourist or business purposes will no longer need a visa for visits of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. If you’re travelling before 2 March, you will still need a visa.

Visa regulations can change without notice: please check the current regulations in good time to obtain a visa if one is required.

There are no mandatory vaccination requirements.

Travel health can often be something people forget about before going away, but a little preparation and knowledge can go a long way to help you stay fit and healthy while abroad.

As we are not qualified to answer all your questions about travel health we strongly recommend you contact your Medical Professional or a Travel Health Clinic at least 8 weeks prior to departure for up-to-date information. Please note: vaccinations that are routinely recommended to residents of the UK, North America or Australasia are not considered to form part of the travel health advice, and you should ensure these are kept up to date where necessary.

Important Information

On all guided trips

Although our leaders are well trained to deal with different capabilities, if they have any concerns about someone’s ability to safely partake in an activity, or their impact on other people’s enjoyment, we authorise them to take necessary action which, in some circumstances, may involve asking someone to miss that activity.

Although rarely enforced, by booking this trip you agree to section 14 of our Booking Conditions which clearly states that our leaders have the authority to do this. In these circumstances we will ensure anyone sitting out is safely provided for and offered alternative options where possible. Refunds will not be provided for activities missed and customers may be liable for additional costs incurred.

On all trips

In booking this trip you should be confident in your ability to participate in all activities described in these Trip Notes. If you have any doubt about your suitability you should call the Exodus office and ask to speak to one of the experts on this itinerary.

Every time that you travel abroad you should take the time to read the warnings in the essential information in the brochure.

Full joining instructions including local emergency numbers, and details of how to reach the start point, will be sent to you approximately 2 to 3 weeks prior to departure. If you do not receive these at least a week before departure, or require them earlier please contact our office or your travel agent.

The information in these Trip Notes is given in good faith. Where differences exist between the Trip Notes and our current brochure or website, the Trip Notes supersede the brochure and website. All holidays can be subject to unexpected changes; in order to enjoy them you should be prepared to be flexible where necessary. Occasionally, as stated in our brochure, it may not be possible to follow the itinerary as planned. This may be for a variety of reasons - climatic, political, physical or other. In these circumstances we will make the best possible alternative arrangements that maintain the integrity of the original itinerary.

As fuel prices, airport taxes and exchange rates fluctuate, and airlines manage their rates to match demand, it is proving harder than ever to guarantee our Flight Inclusive prices. Although we endeavour to keep our website as accurate as possible, daily fluctuations mean that our Flight Inclusive price may be out of date. For accurate prices we recommend that you contact one of our Travel Experts, or your Travel Agent.
