Wild camping at it's best! Think sun and sand as a lifestyle rather than a day at the beach. For lunch a healthy salad is whipped up and served with freshly baked 'sand bread'. Add in the camels, starry night sky, rising moon and cheery Arab companions. Now you have the makings of a great adventure. Oops, forgot to mention the campfire cooking, fireside songs and the best coffee you could hope to wake up to. It certainly was a Happy New Year!

Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route & Safari

This was just a fantastic trip.  I cannot fault the organisation of the Kilimanjaro climb itself - it was just perfect.  I am also very glad that I booked through Exodus, which uses the The Africa Walking Company as its local operator.   They had the best camping set-up that we saw on the mountain, particularly the much appreciated toilet tent!  The guides and porters were universally good and seemed to provide that little bit more than the other operators on the mountain.  The safari was also excellent - the only negative point was that we were meant to have a group leader to meet us and drop us off at the airport, but it seems like he could not allocate the time.  The safari drivers did a great job getting us to the right places and making sure we saw all our 'wish list' (!) of animals, however, and mostly made up for the lack of group leader.  It was an excellent and satisfying trip all round.

A solid introduction to Tunisia. You get to see a lot of what the country has to offer - Roman ruins, the star wars sets, the rugged desert and fertile plains of the north. Tour would have warranted 4 or 5 stars had it not been for lax safety standards at one of the hotels - they didn't block my single room and gave it to three men who came in while I was sleeping! The company has not responded to my feedback as yet - would be very disappointing if not addressed.

Exodus Response

We were very sorry to learn about the incident that occurred at the Hotel National in Tunis and have already sent an apology letter to Ms Su Chen. We understand that regrettably the receptionist at the hotel made a mistake by inadvertently issuing three male clients with an electronic key card for the room that had already been allocated to this client. The receptionist has assured us that this was a case of human error and is genuinely sorry for any alarm caused by the mistake. We have worked with the Hotel National for several years and have never previously heard of this type of situation occurring before, but we have raised this matter seriously with the manager of the hotel and do believe this was a one off mistake which we trust will not occur again.

A week of superb snow, brilliant sunshine, very good quality equipment, daily walks that were all completely different but fabulous in their own right, very friendly hotel in the centre of Argentiere with an excellent range of choice for breakfast & 3 course dinner in the lovely attached restaurant. What more could you want!
