Read time – 2 minutes

Voted the best European city destination in 2012, 2014 and 2017, there is no greater way to reach Porto then on 2 wheels.

Starting at 950m, enjoy a week of observing the unchanged rural life in Portugal where you cycle past quaint riverside villages, crumbling castles and shelves of vivid green vineyards that the Minho region is famous for. There is the chance to sample the world-class Alvarinho grape variety, with two wine tastings included.

 Solar De Serrade

Situated on 18 hectares of farmland, the Solar de Serrade is surrounded by endless grapevines. The family-run accommodation has an onsite winery, where they produce an award-winning wine made with the young Alvarinho grape. Established in 1997, Solar De Serrade was renovated by the family and has been hosting guests for the last 20 years.

The locally produced wine has won multiple awards, with the proprietor of Solar being a Wine sommelier himself.  A batch of 150,000 bottles is shipped to ten different countries every year and there is a chance for you to purchase a bottle of the wine to take home.

Quinta De Agra

Owned by Mr Pedro Malheiro, the Quinta De Agra is a lovely restored rural paradise. The accommodation still retains its historic character today. Pedro ensured that authenticity was vital when the 17th century house was renovated and restored over a 10 year period.

A house tour is provided upon arrival which draws your attention to the quirks of the property, including an old grind mill in the cellar which has now been converted to a lounge. Enjoy the onsite swimming pool and the pleasure of meeting Pedro, his wife and his adopted pet dog.
