Itinerary Expand all Day 1 Start Nairobi; transfer to the Naboisho Conservancy Landing early in Nairobi we meet our guide and fellow passengers and start our six hour transfer to the Kicheche Valley Camp in the Naboisho Conservancy. Upon arrival we have time to settle into our luxury camp overlooking a secluded valley. Various animals frequently visit the camp so our safari experience may start right from the tent porch. Time permitting, we will go on our first game drive this afternoon.Accommodation: Kicheche Valley Camp Meals included: Dinner Days 2-5 Days spent on morning and afternoon game drives looking for the area's prolific wildlife. The next four days are spent exploring the Naboisho Conservancy in search of game. The verdant plains host a fabulous array of game such as gazelles, impala, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and eland. Never far away are the predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena. You may come across giraffe or elephant stripping the trees of vegetation, hippos lazing in the river or warthogs with their tails in the air. Generally, we head out on game drives twice a day, in the early morning and late afternoon. Game drives don’t have a fixed schedule or itinerary and will vary depending on the animals encountered. All drives are undertaken in specialist 4WD Land Cruisers with seating for 6 people, plus the driver/guide. These specially designed vehicles have been customised for game driving with a pop up roof for optimum viewing and photography. We normally return to camp to relax during the hottest time of the day when the animals also take cover and are at their least active. During this downtime, it’s possible to freshen up at camp or relax and enjoy the views of the valley. Meals are either taken outside in the shade (during the day) or under the stars (at night) or in the mess tent if the weather requires it. The food is of a very high standard and plentiful - it is quite an experience hearing the sounds of one of the world’s most prolific savannahs as you dine.Accommodation: Kicheche Valley Camp Meals included: Breakfast Lunch Dinner Day 6 Return to Nairobi. Depending on time and schedules we hope to have a final game walk this morning before heading back towards Nairobi (six hours). Anyone on the group flight will depart from Nairobi this evening, whilst Land Only clients will leave the group in Nairobi at the post trip Hotel. There should be time for some dinner at the hotel before heading to the airport for the flight. Meals included: Breakfast Lunch
Kenya Most nationalities do now require a visa for Kenya, including Britons, most EU nationals, Australians, New Zealanders, Americans and Canadians. At present single entry and transit visas are available online (see below) and soon all visas will have to be obtained online. Alternatively visas are available in advance or on arrival. The Kenyan government are planning for all visas to be obtained online and may stop delivering visas on arrival on short notice. For the latest information please contact your local Kenyan High Commission or Consulate. For information about the online application process please visit http://evisa.go.ke/evisa.html.The cost of the visa is US$50 for a single entry visa and US$100 for an East Africa visa (valid to travel in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda – if the website still says coming soon please check with the Kenyan High Commission) (https://immigration.ecitizen.go.ke/index.php?id=7) You will need to first register to the ecitizens website (including needing a photo 500px x 500px) before you can start applying. For the application process itself you will need details of the accommodation used (which we will send you) and itinerary as well as a photo 5.5cm x 5.5cm and a scanned or photographed copy of your passport’s bio/photo page. If after visiting Kenya you will also travel to Uganda and Rwanda, you may apply for East African Visa that will cover all three countries. This visa is currently available upon arrival in Nairobi. Please contact the Kenyan High Commission to obtain more information about the combined visa from Kenya.
Kenya There are no mandatory vaccination requirements. Recommended vaccinations are: Polio, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Typhoid, Hepatitis A. Malaria prophylaxis is essential and we suggest that you seek advice from your GP or travel health clinic about which malaria tablets to take. Dengue fever is a known risk in places visited. It is a tropical viral disease spread by daytime biting mosquitoes. There is currently no vaccine or prophylaxis available for Dengue, and therefore the best form of prevention is to avoid being bitten. We recommend you take the usual precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
Luxury Tented Camp You will spend 5 nights in a luxury tented camp. Kicheche Valley has en-suite tents with solar electricity, running water, hot showers with superb meals taken al fresco. There is also a dining tent in case of rain and laundry facilities. Single supplement available.

Eustace and Steve guided us impeccably so that we watched the action with prime sighting each time. Add to that lovely meals and fascinating company of fellow wildlife enthusiasts and we have the perfect Safari with ‘all the boxes ticked’ What was the most inspirational moment of your trip? Watching a Leopard kill a bush hare. What did you think of your group leader? Extremely knowledgable and so considerate to boot Do you have any advice for potential travellers? Go fully rested as to be resting during the day would be a waste! Is there anything else you would like to add? We are rather missing the hot water bottles always available!
Reviewed October 2018 Karen Moran Trip: Mara Conservancy Safari Simply amazing Simply amazing safari holiday. Arrangements were good from start to finish (thought the drive to the camp is long and, in parts, rough). From the early morning wake up call with a hot drink and lovely biscuits, to the sundowners on the plains, every day was a day of discovery and learning. The staff are incredibly knowledgable and helpful. The animals were plentiful and exciting to watch. What was the most inspirational moment of your trip? Watching a leopard stalk, catch, choke and start skinning a hare was the most inspirational moment of the trip - it was simply breathtaking to watch. What did you think of your group leader? Our driver and guide were both exceptional. They put us in exactly the right place to take some awe inspiring photographs, while at all times keeping safety of ourselves and the animals as a priority. Do you have any advice for potential travellers? Don't take toiletries - the ones provided (shampoo, hand wash, conditioner, body wash) are just lovely, so you can save some valuable space in your luggage.
