    Galapagos on board Nemo II

AMAZING. This trip was tremendous in every way. Nemo II was beautifully equipped and spotless. The crew were fabulous and the food delicious. The birds and marine life - plus the giant tortoises were breathtaking. I think we have all seen these wonderful creatures on the television but seeing them with one’s own eyes was something I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Along side the wildlife was the topography of the Galápagos Islands. I had not expected to see such dramatic lava fields and, for me, these were even better than the wildlife. Snorkelling in beautiful clear water with sea turtles, seals and hammer head sharks was a privilege and great fun.

What was the most inspirational moment of your trip?

Walking in Darwin’s footsteps. The sense of history and how important it is to look after our planet. Great knowledge brings great responsibility. Seeing Galapagos in all its glory has inspired me to be much more aware are careful about using the world’s resources

What did you think of your group leader?

Edwin was great. He took pride in keeping Nemo II spotless Each day he wrote out our timetable so we knew exactly what we needed - where - when and how. He was extremely knowledgeable and made sure everyone was looked after and was having fun. There were 5 different nationalities on board Nemo II on my trip. Edwin coped with 3 languages without any trouble. He was a great guy.

Do you have any advice for potential travellers?

Take sea sickness pills. (Although these were supplied on board!). The sea can be choppy and we all felt queasy at times. Take eco friendly shampoo or use the shampoo supplied on board - normal shampoo is not permitted. Take at least one neutral coloured shirt and pair of shorts/trousers to wear in areas where there are wasps as these insects are attracted to bright colours.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Enjoy the trip of a lifetime
