Most Inspirational Moment
There are many inspiring moments and if I have to choose it has to be the elephant transit home! Who can not be inspired by the kindness and work done to protect these majestic animals and how gorgeous are they??
Thoughts on Group Leader
Hiti gets top marks from me! He started the holiday with a smile when we met at the airport and that didn't change throughout the whole trip. I believe this was the first time this particular trip had been run so there were a few miscommunications that he dealt with very swiftly. His knowledge of his country is to be commended, he was asked many questions during our two weeks and was easily able to answer them all.
Advice for Potential Travellers
I would definitely recommend this trip. I went as a solo traveller and had the opportunity to meet a group of like minded people who were generous with their time to ensure I wasn't left to eat alone on the evenings where the meal wasn't provided. I can honestly say I enjoyed the company of all them.
Suggestions
The trip notes don't mention taking long trousers for the forest walk, I would have appreciated these to save scratches and insect bites even though I used repellent spray. There is no Wifi or phone signal at the Gal Oya wild glamping accommodation so worth warning your people at home that you're 'out of the office'. One more thing, wear closed footwear for the tea plantation, there is a possibility of leeches when tea picking.
