South Thailand Adventure

Lightweight breathable travel clothing is essential, it is very hot and humid. You will need long trousers or convertibles when visiting temples. Take comfortable walking sandals and wide brim hat to keep cool and to avoid sunburn.Take a water bottle and and a holder or strap/karabiner to carry it on your shoulder. Better for the environment then buying plastic bottles all the timePoncho is useful for sudden tropical downpours. If you like snorkelling might be worth taking your own gear, some people missed out on our trip as the boat did not have gear on board initially. Generally if you like swimming and watersports this holiday is definitely for you! I'd recommend jumping in the river at the floating rafthouses and Chieo Lan Lake.Take a head torch for the fairly long night walk in Khao Sok NP. To stop leeches try and cover up as much as possible and wear walking shoes not sandals.A medium size rucksack is useful (some camping involved). The morning is the best time to be on the beach at Sichon (faces east), if not too hungover!Go to the disco dining car on the overnight train rather than eat at your seat, it is a lot of fun.
