Annapurna Action

Hi there, my partner and I are booked up for this trek and are already counting the days!! This will be our 2nd trip to Nepal, did Everest Base Camp 5 years ago and loved every minute of it. Would be good to hear from fellow travellers before departing.

Hi Col, I'm booked on this trip also. See the other posting further down this page also. I'm departing from Heathrow on Friday 21st October, are you meeting up with the group on Saturday 22nd?

It is my 1st trek & I'm starting training for it already. I live 40 mins. away from Moel Famau & other Clwydian hills, so no excuses for some serious training! I'm also starting to assemble kit for the trip. Catch you again,

Best wishes,

Hi John, yep we're flying down to Heathrow on 21st from Edinburgh so will be on same flight out as you. Can't wait. You'll love it out there, scenery is jaw droppingly good. Training starts next week in gym & up in Highlands which are 2-3 hrs away in car. Now, if only the weather would improve so we can enjoy the hills!!

Hi Col, nice to hear from you. I see the trip is nearly full with only 4 spaces left. No doubt some/all of these will be filled in due course. Yes, I'll intensify my training next month & onwards, though my wife & I are off to Turkey with Exodus in September, so I'll have to keep my fitness levels up while we're away. Are you getting your visas in Katmandu? I thought I would--I don't fancy posting my passport to the embassy with 2 weeks processing there. It seems OK to get it there according to the trip notes. Cheers,  John.

Hi, I'm on this trip too. Really looking forward to it! Although slightly concerned that you've been in serious training since July... I'm now not sure my cycling will be enough and think I need to find a cross trainer or step machine quick (unfortunately I don't live near any mountains)! John, I had a work trip to Kathmandu a couple of years ago and getting the visa at the airport was easy. Kathryn

Hi folks I could not get on the flight on 21st so going the day before from Heathrow via New Delhi. Anybody else tavelling on that day or arriving in K'mandu on 21st if so please let me know. Second trip to Nepal as I did the Classic Everest trip with Exodus in 2005 or more aptly known as "Everest for Softies" due to the ensuite facilities and hot water bottles in the bed. I'm like you Kathryn not living near any mountains but luckily I have a neighbour who has a cross trainer in his garage. The trip is now becoming a reality in that my kitbag arrived yesterday I got my visa from the Embassy by post in a week. Ken

Hi Ken, I'm also travelling out a day earlier. Arriving the 21st at 14.45 - Jet flight from Delhi. Is that the same flight as you? Kathryn

Yes it is the same flight and my connecting flight is the 20.45 from Heathrow. hopefully we can meet up at either airport depending on how you are travelling to Delhi. Ken

Hello everyone, my wife Charnotte, and friend Farahna are also counting down the days for this trek. I cannot wait to get back to Nepal, and am especially looking forward to trekking again. Nepal is without a doubt, my favourite holiday destination. looking forward to meeting you all. Declan.

Hello everyone, I am also really looking forward now it is getting closer. I have not been to Nepal before but have done some trekking in UK and Europe. It is giving me a good excuse to go down the gym and I have lined up friends to go for a couple of training walks! I too may be on the earlier flight, in which case it would be good to meet up (but plans are not yet quite fixed as work may mean I have to travel there from abroad). For those going out a day early, can I ask have you booked to stay in the same hotel? Steve

Hi Steve

Yes I am staying at the Royal Singhi with flight details as above.  Ken

Hi, I'm on a different flight from the UK Ken but will hopefully find you in Delhi airport in the 6 hours I have to wait there! I'm not staying in the Royal Singhi on the 21st. (Someone I know though work has offered for me to stay with her for that night.) I'll go to the hotel on Sat morning. Kathryn

We are now officially counting the hours until lift off :-) Training has been curtailed by various injuries but still confident that we'll see it thro' to the end!! Myself and Ffy are flying down from Edinburgh on Fri to connect with the flight out to Delhi so will be playing Spot The Trekker in T4 from about 5.30 onwards. Looking forward to meeting all you guys and having an amazing holiday to remember. Col

Hi All,

Myself and boyfriend Matthew are also booked on this trip and having read this blog I am now scared!!!  Altough I did some training in the UK before I left (4 weeks ago) I fear that I am going to be the looser trailing at the end...oh well, all the better to enjoy the views I guess ; )

We have been in Kathmandu since the 18th and are def ready to get out of the city and start the tour!!!!  We are on a 4 month travelling trip and have come from directly from China hence the lack of training.

Anyway, can't wait to meet you all : )

See you soon

Hi, I'm leaving for the airport in less than an hour! Very excited, and a bit nervous. I think I might be at the back with you Sumiyah! Looking forward to meeting you all on Saturday and hopefully meeting Ken in Delhi tomorrow (Ken, I'll be carrying a large blue & white bag as hand luggage). Safe trips everyone! Kathryn
