Just wondering who's booked to go on this trip?

Rich n Val

I am also booked on the trip.  I did Kili last year with exodus and it was fab.  Looking forward to meeting up.

Not done this sort of trip before, anyone have any tips? what to take etc?

Hi, as many clothes as you can pack in the 15kg and a good pair of boots for the crampons . likely to get cold and wet .Plenty of compeed and ibuprofen.

Have you checked out the accomodation yet , summit night looks interesting!!

We're not very experienced with these multi day treks , but we did manage Kili couple of years back and TMB this year with exodus . Good times.

I'd particularly like to know of anyone going on the early flight from Gatwick (7.30 am) and coming back on the late flight at the end of the trek.

Hi, I am booked onthis trip for the 23rd Feb and wondered what are the trekking conditions are like at the moment. Is there much snow up on the mountains. Did you use crampons and the ice axe or just carried them in case of emergency ??

I did this trip at the same time last year (so cross country ski king for a change this year/next week) its a straightforward trek which can be done in a long weekend.  its the snow conditions that make it tiring. ; last year the snowing started just below the nelter refuge and was quite deep  (ps  take ear plugs as the shelter will be crowded  ) you will use both crampons and your axe , but neither are challenging ..we also took personal beacons (provided ).make sure at helter that you keep your boots and crampons nearby ..i left mine by front door and somebody walked down the mountain with my crampons ..i did get them was an honest mistake ,but only when back in the village near end of trek from a hire shop.. somebody had left theirs and taken mine in error..i had to borrow some for both summit days out of nelter . Enjoy

You walk up halfway to a cafe after this you needed the crampons on and off up to the refuge, needed them most of the way up to the summit. Ice axe's needed to be available just in case. We had an amazing few days, the weather could not have been better. The refuge, as to be expected is pretty basic but no where near as bad as i was expecting. Great food, masses of it and a great bunch of people to share the experience with! thanks guys.

Thanks for the update and tips . Most useful.

Hoping we'll have the good weather too !!  Not long now :)
