I'm booked to go on this trip, and am interested in establishing contact with fellow travellers.

Hi, I'm booked on to this trip as well.  Really looking forward to it.  Never been to Bhutan before and the last time I was in Kathmandu was 25 years ago so I'm expecting some changes.  Have you been to this part of the world before?

Hi Greg - No, never been to Bhutan, but like you was in Kathmandu over twenty years ago.  Am really looking forward to seeing this fascinating country.  Got my Nepal visa last week, so am all set to go.  As I live in Switzerland, I will be flying from Geneva with Qatar Airways, joining the group at the hotel in Kathmandu,

I'm flying to Oman on Thursday 13th for a few days break in Muscat before joining the group in Kathmandu.  I'm getting my visa on arrival as suggested in the trip notes but I'll also need a visa for Oman so it's going to be quite expensive.  Things are not cheap in Oman either apparently.  I'm off ion  a walking holiday in Albania on Friday for a week.  I booked this for June but it got cancelled owing to laxck of take up and the only date they could fit me in was next Friday.  Not ideal being so close to the Bhutan holiday.  I've had a few holidays in Switzerland.  Where abouts do you live?

Hi Greg - you must be on your way right now to Albania for your walking holiday; hope you have a great time ... a little cooler than here, perhaps ?  I'm trying to get some hiking in before Bhutan - spent five days along the Swiss Via Alpina earlier this month, and am going back for four more days early September.  But it's so very hot at the monent here !

I live in Satigny, which is on the outskirts of Geneva and a vineyard area.  Have been living here in Switzerland since 1968 ...

When do you arrive in Kathmandu ?  My flight is QR 352, gets in to Kathmandu at 09.40 on Wednesday 19 September.

Hi Barb

Just back from Albania and it was unbelieveably hot 35C+ I kid you not.  Drank plenty of water but still suffered from dehydration!  There is some amazing scenery and most of the Adriatic coast is completely unspolt, in fact there's nothing there, just beach and sea. There were some fairly stiff climbs but only got to around 2,000 metres so no altitude problems. I fly out to Oman on Friday 14th and pick up the group flight from London in Muscat on Wednesday 19th September Omani Air flight WY332 which lands in Kathmandu at around 5 pm local time so you'll be way ahead of us.

Hi Barb and Greg,

I'm coming too from London. Think I'm on the group flight. Can't wait.... Just been hearing about Paro airport so think it might be quite an interesting landing! Also that they have amazing stamps on Bhutan which I hadn't heard about before. Anyway see you in KTM.
