Kili via the Rongai Route for New Year

Would be great to hear from anyone signed up for this trip.  Although this will be our third Exodus trip but I think perhaps it will be the most challenging of them, I'm already getting a bit worried about what maybe ahead.

Ahhh - I've signed up for this ????

Great to here from someone else on this trip, have you started training and collecting kit together?

Yes, been picking up bits and bobs over last few months since booking. Who knew trekking a mountain could be so expensive.

I need to get my act together - it'll soon be here :-0

We're really looking forward it to it, trying to get some hilly walks in on the South Downs and like you putting bits of kit by in readiness.

Hi folks, am signed up for this too.  My first walk/trek type of holiday.  Have no kit yet apart from boots, which I've started breaking in by wearing on the commute to/from work.  Nice to meet you :)

51 days to go... bring it onnn

Hi all -  I am signed up for this too...  looking forward to meeting you all!  I don't have the kit yet (apart from the boots) but that's easier to fix than the late start to my training programme...

We are nearly all sorted on kit, just the ponchos  left to get we should have shares in Cotswold Outdoor! but training has taken a dip due to Paul falling over just 10 minutes into our last training hike and tearing the ligaments in his ankle, fingers crossed he heals in time!

Everyone all set?

Nearly ready, the box we've been throwing all the bits and pieces in which we think we might want needs to be sorted through and our kit bags filled.  Not feeling too confident about the amount of training we've put in but hopefully determination and mind over matter will get us to the top.  Look forward to trying to spot you all at the airport, the yellow bags should help!  :-)

One week to go, eeek!

Also not confident about the training!

Just a quick question about yellow fever vaccination for any of you out there - Nomad Travel clinic advised me not to have it due to the low liklihood of acquiring the disease in Tz, and have signed the yellow booklet for me, but I've since heard this might not be accepted as valid at the airport as we transit through Ethiopia... have any of you had/not had the vaccination, or been give the same advice as me...?

From what I've heard, if you are very determined at the airport that you have only transited through Ethiopia you should be let through ok, we have had the vaccination as we spoke to Exodus and the information they were getting back from the border was quite conflicting.

It’s been tricky getting our main kit down to 15kg for the trek, our snacks seem to be quite heavy but I don’t want to leave any behind.

See you tomorrow!
