Hi anyone heading off to Cuba in April? anyone been before? do have any advice for me?

Thanks Sue

Hi Sue,not only have I not been to Cuba before but I've never been on a cycling holiday either! All I can say is that in order to try and prepare myself physically for the trip I've been cycling at the gym 3 times a week for the last month as it is too dark and cold to go out in the evenings and I've bought the Lonely Planet guide of Cuba to do some research on the places we visit.Have you done many cycling holidays before? If not then hopefully someone else out there has some words of wisdom for us.Liam

Well, Liam you sound a bit better prepared than me physically, keep meaning to try the exercise bike option but decided it's nicer outside, only it isn't most of the time and when I decide I'll go out on a Sunday it invariably pours all day! I did Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam last Easter and it was great fun, hot and sticky and hard work, but fun nonetheless and I was probably also the slowest. Gel saddle/cover is a good idea and I initially had no cycle kit so I bough padded shorts and shoes too, anthing to ease the aches and pains. I have a very old lonely planet Cuba I've borrowed, must open it at some point!  See you anon. Sue

Hi Sue,

looks like someone strated another thread for this trip......
