Trails of Turqoise Coast Cycling 12th October 09

Hi,

Anyone else booked on this trip?  I notice the night time temperatures are a bit extreme in some of the places we're staying - they drop to 3' C according to tripit.com!!!  24-27C in the day though, which is perfect for cycling...

Looking forward to this one...  It's my first MTB trip, I've done London to Paris before on the road bike, but have done very little on the mountain bike, and living in Suffolk have done zero downhill.. Should be interesting....

Cheers

Simon

Hi Simon

I've been keeping an eye on the weather too, glad the days will be warm.

I'm no cyclist, although I can ride a bike. Good start!

I have been mountain biking once (for a few hours) so this for me is going to be challenging to say the least! I'm looking forward to it.

Downhill...how hard can it be? right? ;)

Hi Dhara,

I'm travelling with my mate Jon.  He's more advanced on the mountain bike than I am but we've both found it difficult to fit in any serious training...

I've overcome the first challenge - packing.  Had to ditch the holdall and revert to a suitcase as once you've packed the helmet, cycling shoes, water bottle etc the bag soon fills up.  Difficult to know what clothes to take for when we're not cycling with the extremes of the weather between day and night...

Are you hiring a bike out there or taking your own.  We opted to hire one out there as thought it'd be too much hassle to take our own.

May see you in Gatwick nice and early on Monday morning, or if not see you in Turkey!

I know! I was thinking holdall would be ok and more suitable, but with all the stuff we need and mixed weather reports, I am confused about what to take so have reverted to typical form and decided to take everything! I'll probably still end up too cold or too warm :)

I'm travelling with a friend from work, Rita. We managed to cycle 30km around Richmond Park 2 weeks ago (some off roading) but not much more.

Hiring bikes out there, seems easier than the other option.

Nice to have chatted, see you soon!
