TWB - Mont Blanc Circuit - 13th August

I couldn't see a thread for this trip so thought I would start one in the hope that anyone else on this trip might join in.

I'm John and this'll be my first trip with exodus. I'm coming on my own so it'd be nice to hear from anyone else joinging this trip beforehand.

Hi John,

This is part of the fun, finding out who you will be travelling with. This is my forth holiday with Exodus, previous 3 on my own. So far company has been good and the majority of people usually travel on ther own anyway. The other fun bit is to try to spot who will be in your trip at the airport, usually people with walking boots on their feet as we have all been told that this is the last thing you would want the airline to loose.

See you in 3 weeks,

Hi there. Good to hear from someone else.

I'll look forward to spending time playing spot the boots at the airport. I suspect there'll probably be those joining the hotel version of the trip or doing the shorter versions on the same flight as us so it might be a bit more tricky than just spotting those with boots on.

Look forward to being on holiday in 19 days (not that I'm counting).

Counting down the days. Looking forward to joining you for our first Exodus trip and camping experience.  Boots, rain gear... ready for off. will be looking out for your boots at the airport too!!!!!!

Counting down too. Got my anorak ready.

Hi all, I'll be there,

My name is Howard but you won't see me at the airport, well not the one for the group flight anyway. I'm flying from Bristol instead which means that I get up at a civilised time but I'll join you all a bit later at the campsite.

I've been on about 10 exodus holidays and they've all been good. Travelling by yourself is the norm rather than the exception so don't worry John.

I did the chamonix to zurmatt trek last year and loved the area so much I booked this one for this year.  Note it can get bloody cold at night. Last year I woke one morning to find frost on the outside of the tent.  The trip notes don't say so but I'd say thermal underwear is essential, as are earplugs for some of the campsites. Also if you have a sigg bottle, bring it, they make very good hot water bottles. Of course, after saying all that we'll probably have mild weather but I went two weeks later last year and as I say it was cold at night but stunning during the day.

Anoraks and suncream at the ready.
