Isalo national park, Madagascar

Isalo National Park

Isalo National Park Trips

Isalo is a vast region of wind-polished and water-scoured rock towers, deep canyons, gorges and oases. The rocky landscape is perfect for exploring on foot. The lower reaches feature rock-strewn streams that trickle under the forest canopy, home to a population of ring-tailed lemur.

Higher up, the landscape becomes much more arid, providing the ideal habitat for succulents, including members of the aloe family and the aptly named elephant's foot plant. On Isalo National Park tours you'll also learn about the area's traditional burial tombs, tucked high into the nooks and crannies of the rocks.
