Winter in the Baltics, Helsinki and Stockholm

The trip was well organised, guide was great, accommodation was good and I really enjoyed it

Most Inspirational Moment

Each city was different and varied itinerary. There was lots to see and do. The guide and group were excellent

Thoughts on Group Leader

Lucaz was very good and worked really hard throughout the trip to ensure everything ran smoothly. He was friendly, approachable and well organised - we couldn't have asked for more from him

Cycling Vietnam

We loved the varied places we visited and the travelling between them. Our leader, Loc was fantastic and we learned so much about the country, its agriculture, history, people and their way of life. The bikes provided were of a high standard and our mechanic, Y kept them clean and running perfectly. Our drivers Cen and Nien were waiting so often with delicious fresh lemonade and fruit. The enforced changes to our itinerary were communicated and handled well. We could appreciate how much work was going on in the background to make sure we had a great experience even though our original plan wasn’t possible.

Most Inspirational Moment

Cycling through the countryside and small villages. Seeing so many happy smiling faces as we rode by. Climbing the Hai Van pass. Visiting Ha Long Bay.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Cannot praise Loc highly enough. His enthusiasm was infectious and he kept us so well informed and entertained along the way. He helped the group gel together and gave great recommendations for places to eat when we had to feed ourselves. He is a credit to your business

Cycle Kerala & Tropical India

The trip exceeded expectations, so well organised, lots of interesting things to do. Our guide Safi knew his job inside out and somehow managed us all perfectly! Food was also amazing and snacks and meals were well thought out and timing was perfect!

Most Inspirational Moment

Cycling through the backroads around Mysore, chatting to Indian people, colours and friendly smiles every where. Our guide Safi and his team, friendly, chatty, helpful and seamlessly organised. So helpful when I wanted to buy unusual gifts to bring home or take lots of photos!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Safi was a fantastic group leader. His skill in giving the appropriate amount of information, at the right time enabled everyone to be clear about the day to come, health and safety and information about what we were seeing. He is a very talented leader. He always made us feel welcome and went out of his way to join our group for drinks and meals. He went over and above everyday. In particular he helped me source a glass stand! Not an easy task but he didn't give up!

Annapurna Circuit Trek

I had a great overall trip and it was much more varied than I expected

Most Inspirational Moment

The pass, seeing the high mountains, Poon Hill, the varied terrain and villages on the circuit

Thoughts on Group Leader

Sam is an excellent trek leader in terms of the clients. His communication skills are particularly good and everything on the trip went very smoothly both during the day and at night in the teahouses.

India’s North & South

We were the only two travellers in our ‘small group’ and had been made aware of this before departure but the level of organisation for our trip was still second-to-none. Thank you Exodus and a very big thank you to Mayank Khamesra, our guide, who travelled with us throughout the 15 days and became a companion as well as ensuring all our needs and hopes were fulfilled. Our drivers in the north, Rajeesh, and south, Lenin, were both so courteous and kind and made us feel safe in a country where driving standards are somewhat lacking. All the additional guides at our sightseeing destinations were also most friendly and knowledgeable and are a credit to Indian tourism.

Most Inspirational Moment

Where do we start?! We keep asking ourselves that. At the moment I would say Old Delhi tour with a former 'street child' Kaleesh. We experienced the 'underbelly' of the city; the Taj Mahal of course; the two cookery classes where we prepared and then ate the results; the Neemrana Fort Palace; the Tea plantation visit; and the overnight cruise of the Keralan backwaters.

Thoughts on Group Leader

An excellent guide and most personable. As we were only two, Mayank became our constant companion. He was knowledgeable and we got to know him very well. He's a credit to Exodus.

Cycle the Back Roads of Sri Lanka

Our guide Ruwan was excellent – his knowledge of the history of Sri Lanka and his ability to inform us of the culture and religion at appropriate moments was a highlight. Being able to cycle from place to place without long transfers also made the trip very enjoyable.

Most Inspirational Moment

The range of scenery and the cycling challenges - a sense of achievement cycling up to Nuwara Eliya and the tea plantations

Thoughts on Group Leader

Ruwan is an exceptional leader - his imparting of knowledge of his country to the group at appropriate moments was very clear and helpful. His use of a map of Sri Lanka at the outset every day and then highlighting that day's route with a marker pen before we started cycling was great and his provision of profiles from Strava the night before with clear information about timings for drinks, dinner, and the wake up calls meant that we always had certainty about what we had to do.

Foothills of the Himalaya

The trip itself was well thought out, with a great balance of activities with fast paced days and slower ones. Our Guide, Anil, was amazing and ensured the trip went without a hitch.

Most Inspirational Moment

The day spent in Dharamshala and the visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar

Thoughts on Group Leader

Anil was an amazing leader - nothing was too much trouble and he ensured he engaged with everyone on the trip at different points. At times it must have seemed like herding cats, but he managed to ensure our safety and that we got where we needed to be with all of our luggage intact, with good grace and humour.

Bike Sri Lanka

This was a great opportunity to bike and see Sri Lanka (even impacted by a typhoon) but marred by a seriously inadequate ebike. It was underpowered at best, power on my bike and another one cut out on occasion and the governor at 25 kph makes an ebike worse than useless since one has to pedal a heavy bike hard to stay up with the group sometimes doing 27-28 kph on good roads. After my complaints, guide Surech stried to help and swapped out my bike for a slightly better powered but much heavier urban stile bike but it was not really an improvement.
And I had a very heavy urban ebike on an Exodus Japan tour last year that I complained about with little result.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Great

Advice for Potential Travellers

enquire carefully about ebike rental

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek

Visiting Annapurna Base Camp is a tough trek because of all the steps. The trek leader Tenzi was amazing and thanks also to the encouragement from guide Hare and the support of the porters. For me it was the trip of a lifetime to see up close the beauty of the Himalayas and the welcoming Nepalese people.

Most Inspirational Moment

Chuilli to Annapurna base camp the bamboo forest and small settlements back down to Siwai

Thoughts on Group Leader

Tenzi is very attuned to the group needs. Endured good breaks/water breaks/paced trek to fit our needs & to sis acclimatisation to the altitude. Made every effort to get extra rooms where possible!!! Great company & very knowledgeable. Enabled all in the group to fully enjoy the trip and the days at the end in Pokhara

Essential China

We liked the itinerary which gave us a comprehensive experience of the different locations we visited.

Most Inspirational Moment

Seeing such epic historical places come to life, The Great Wall, the Terracotta Army and the Forbidden City.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Kris was friendly and approachable and a committed guide who was determined to impart her knowledge and ensure the group had a wide and full experience of the Chinese culture. Her organisational skills were excellent and everything ran perfectly making it a stress free time. She imparted her knowledge of her culture in an accessible and interesting way. She was generous with her time and worked over and above to ensure all our needs were met.
