Most Inspirational Moment

Touring the streets of Porto was an experience we'll never forget. The colourful tiled buildings, the rhythm of daily life along the Douro River, and the sampling of roasted chestnuts from local stands created a magical atmosphere. We loved watching the city come alive at sunset.

Our tour leader, Carla, was the heart of the trip. Her professionalism, enthusiasm, and deep knowledge of Portugal’s culture and history made every stop come alive. She was organized, adaptable, and always attentive to everyone’s needs—ensuring we were safe, included, and having fun. By the end, our group felt more like a circle of friends than fellow travellers.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If you’re considering Portugal with Exodus, don’t hesitate! Bring comfortable walking shoes for cobblestone streets and good rain gear, especially in autumn. With an open mind and Carla’s expert guidance, you’ll enjoy an incredible journey filled with warmth, discovery, and lasting memories.

Wilson was exceptional. His knowledge and humour were first class. He very rarely didn't know an answer but if that was the case he would find out. He was sociable and met the needs of a small but diverse group. He worked hard to ensure we were all safe and happy. He filmed so much of the wildlife we saw underwater and shared it with us. He pointed out things that we wouldn't have noticed or seen without his very keen eye.

The hotels were nice and our tour felt intimate, in particular the trip on the lagoon and the visit to Angelo's farm. Memories were built around fresh seabass, grilled to perfection while visiting the salt beds, we learned not only the history of Portugal but also got to know its people.

We loved Teresa! She was kind, thoughtful and in love with her country. The enthusiasm she shared was infectious and her attention to us appreciated, in particular she made us feel special. Not only did she share information, if she did not know something in detail, she would spend the evening researching and finding new insights about the topics we had discussed that day. We felt cared for throughout the tour.

See and hearing the huge waves crashing into the sundrenched cliffs and pristine beaches. Although seeing genuine local artisans at work and sampling the local produce was a close second.

Francisco and Rafael couldn't have looked after us better. Nothing was too much bother for them and their love and knowledge of Portugal and the Algarve in particular was so impressive.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Leave enough room in your case for the olive oil, pottery and wine you'll want to take home.

6 day trek and Chitwan National Park. Seeing rhino up close. Guides good and very personable and helpful. Porters were great too

Raht was such a lovely person who was always smiling! She was very informative about different places and the country, which was fascinating! Also she was always enthusiastic! She always made sure if we're okay or having fun which was nice of her. She made the whole trip really fun!

Probably the expected highlights. Wildlife in great abundance, canoe journey into Okavango Delta to camp, the dramatic landscapes around Matobo NP, searching for elusive leopard and rhino, Victoria Falls (spectacular and dramatic even at the end of the dry season).

Unusually this trip ran with a very small number due to unforeseen last minute cancellations, so we had the full attention of Siza and Gift (driver/guide) all of the time. They were very knowledgeable and friendly and keen to chat about all subjects, including the recent political history as well as the wildlife and places. Exceptional.

The sunset and sunrise camel ride in the desert and eating wonderful home cooked food by a local family.

I found Mohammed to be a fantastic person. He was so friendly and did his absolute best to make sure that everyone was happy. His enthusiasm was amazing and his knowledge about the land, people and culture seemed limitless. He went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our trip.
