Amazing Vietnam Family Adventure

This was my first Exodus cycle tour and an amazing way to get a real feel for Vietnam – I absolutely loved it. We did it as a family with our 19 and 21 yr old daughters and it was a huge success all round. From the first meet we felt super looked after by our amazing guide Lok, drivers Sau and Nhan and the mechanic Zee who was so often supporting me at the back of the group! Everything about the tour was very well organized and so good that 2 of the group were on their 3rd and 4th times respectively.

Most Inspirational Moment

Probably completing the Hi Van Pass climb in really challenging heat, and then again the 30km decent a few days before was pretty inspiring

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader Lok worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly and couldn't have been a nicer guy, as well as being very professional and informative .

Advice for Potential Travellers

Try and spend a couple of days in Ho Chi Mihn city before the start and in Hanoi at the end - both really interesting cities and Choose this tour it's a cracker!

Cycle Romania

The bicycle trip to Romania Transylvania region was an incredible experience. First, I’d like to thank our guide, Tudor, and van driver/guide, Vlad, for their expertise. They are knowledge of Romanian, European, architectural, cultural, religious, culinary, and political history are superb. Tudor did a wonderful job of leading our group on the bikes and balancing e-and regular-bikes. Vlad was always ready with e-bike support and snacks for all! The region is breathtaking. The daily rides were well-paced. I loved all the guest-houses; they were a highlight of the trip. I am grateful to all the hosts who opened their establishments to us and cooked us remarkably delicious and memorable dinners.

Most Inspirational Moment

Our guides, our guesthouses, the region, the daily agendas, the food, the kind people we met at all our stops including the wool processing mill and the grain mill and Cobor farm.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Tudor was the best guide I've ever had on any continent. His expertise is a combination of his knowledge, bike abilities, and sociability/emotional intelligence. He knows how to read a room and adapt to the group. He is also kind with all our local sources. I felt that Tudor and Vlad cared very well for us on our trip.

Great cycling, crappy accomodations

I guess that old adage is true, you get what you pay for. This trip was cheaper than other cycling trips I have been on but it was also in a more inexpensive country. From sagging mattresses to sewer smells to non-functioning AC or heating the housing was awful.

Reply from Exodus

We’re grateful to Maggie for sharing her feedback about her Cycling Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast trip. We’re really glad to hear that she enjoyed the cycling experience, but are genuinely sorry to learn that the accommodations didn’t meet her expectations.

While we strive to offer great value, we also aim to maintain a high standard across all aspects of the trip. Based on feedback we’ve received throughout the year, our clients have rated accommodation on this departure an average of 4.14 out of 5, with the majority scoring it as “Good” or “Excellent.” The wider group on Maggie’s departure were also generally positive about the hotels we used, although we have identified one property which sadly was mentioned by several travellers as needing improvement, and we will speak to the hotel’s management and strongly consider replacing it for future tours if standards are not raised.

We’d like to again thank Maggie for her honest review, as it helps us maintain and improve the quality of our trips.

Sicily Food & Wine

Exceptional variety of experiences included in the tour and wonderfully lead by our guide Alessio.

Most Inspirational Moment

The varieties of food and wine tasting were excellent and the opportunity to explore new places. Etna was awesome, even if we couldn't reach the summit.

Thoughts on Group Leader

He was immensely knowledgeable, helpful, had a brilliant sense of humour, was a good storyteller, considerate and a thoroughly nice person. He certainly made the trip. I wish him well.

Cycle the Coast of Kerala

Great support from start to finish. Superb guide, Shibu and support driver, Sandeep.

Most Inspirational Moment

Meeting the guide, Shibu and other group members. The delicious food. Cycling through varied landscapes.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Shibu went above and beyond. He ensured we all had the very best experience by sharing his vast array of knowledge of the areas we visited and of the different cultures we encountered. Shibu is a very sociable and likeable chap with a great sense of humour. He has excellent organisational skills and always did his utmost to ensure the smoothest transitions. He allowed me to video him explaining how to pronounce words and phrases in the local language.

A MUST IF YOU LOVE WILDLIFE

I just completed the Whales & Bears of British Columbia tour and it was incredible. From the first ferry ride to Vancouver Island, I was immersed in wild coastline and ancient rainforest. We spotted humpback whales breaching off the bow and watched black bears comb the shoreline for crabs. A full-day outing to the Orford River treated us to grizzlies feasting on salmon amid misty fjords. The group was small, the guides passionate, and every day brought something surprising. Yes, there were long drives and changeable weather, but it all added to the adventure. I’d highly recommend it

Most Inspirational Moment

I watched a grizzly emerge from the trees and wade into the river, salmon flashing beneath the surface. The air was thick with the scent of cedar and salt, and for a moment, everything was completely still

Thoughts on Group Leader

Sabrina was brilliant, she new so much about Canada and the island and it added so much value

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pack for all weather. Coastal BC can shift from sunshine to rain in minutes — bring waterproof layers and quick-dry clothes. Binoculars and a good zoom lens are worth their weight in gold for wildlife viewing. Be patient and quiet during bear and whale watching — the best moments come when you least expect them.

Absolutely spectacular

This was a truly amazing adventure, Bhutan is a magical place with wondrous scenery and architecture. The people are warm and welcoming and the sights and sounds of the festivals was incredible with the bright costumes, colours and music. The whole trip was well organised and our tour leader was fantastic and so knowledgeable. I knew Bhutan was going to be good but this trip exceeded my expectations, I can’t wait to return.

Most Inspirational Moment

The trek to the tigers nest monastery was a real highlight.
