TFD: Walking in Crete

A great trip including coastal hikes, mountains, beaches, and ancient history.

Walking through the palm tree forest at Preveli Beach – it was like a tropical oasis!

Our guide, Yorgos Prinarakis, was an amazing guide who had a real passion for showing and telling us all about his country and its history and culture.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This trip is great for people who want active exploration with downtime and scenery, rather than a hardcore trekking-only trip. Make sure to pack plenty of water and your swimming gear as it gets hot!

Highlights of Sicily May 2026

A great way to get a flavour of Sicily. Some long days travelling, but then you do go round the whole of the coast of Sicily.

All of it. There wasn't really one thing that stood out above the rest. There was a good mixture of sights and food. We were lucky enough to get to the national park which had only been reopened a couple of weeks before we got there following wild fires,

Tiziano was absolutely fantastic. A ball of fun and he managed to add extra bits to our excursions as we were a great group and all of us were always on time. We were given a list of foods to experience as we went round Sicily and we did try almost all of them.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The botanical gardens are worth a visit on your free afternoon in Palermo. Travel light as you can wash and dry your clothes overnight if you wish.

Kenya Safari Adventure

Our guide, Peter, was very friendly, patient and informed. He made the trip interesting and engaging.

Highlights of Albania

Albania has blown me away from the 10 day cultural tour. Artur our guide was very informative about the history, culture, ethics, people , food and so on, I have come away with a different view. I loved the home visit, the traditional houses and the places we went to.
Artur looked after us and was very caring and paid attention to detail and followed up on anything the individuals in the group needed.
Artur and our driver Dhui, were an amazing combination, both respectful to each other and the group. It was a memorable tour and I would go back to Albania for more

The most inspiring moment was the visit to the 17 century homes, still there post communist and it was amazing to learn how families lived together

Artur our leader was exceptional, kind and had the attention to detail. He was able to change things as required. He consulted us with options, he asked individually if we were ok on a daily basis. He listened to our feedback. Amazing guide! Dhiu the driver made our trip so smooth with his driving skills and helping with lugagge etc.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared moving from hotel to hotel. Some long days but these two guide and driver, made everything flow with much ease

Perfect itinerary for us. Helpful advice pre-booking. Help organising alternative to group flight . All transfers between different sites/hotels went smoothly. Beautiful , and unusual accommodation. A wonderful, engaging guide.

Experiencing sense of "local"..wonderful food wine tasting, olive oil sampling at family run Masseria, tour of Matera on Day 2 with local guide, Lucia, Staying in some beautiful and unusual accommodation. Our amazing guide for the week... Ioanna was wonderful..her explanations of the history of each place brought it alive for me, and she was kind, caring, looked after us all, and was great fun to be with..her contribution to my enjoyment of the holiday overall was massive, so a big thank you

Botswana & Zimbabwe Lodge Safari

The care and attention to detail from siziba and gift was 1st class and professional from the time I was picked up until I got home with a what’s app to ask if everyone got home ok, we was looked after and shown more than I expected on the trip, they made sure that everyone saw what they wanted us all to see.

Excellent helpful caring a credit to Exodus

Seriously impressive

What a trip – my 6th walking tour with Exodus and utterly blown away by the Challenge 5 hikes amongst the Alpi Apuane and Apennines ranges. This was an astonishing introduction to Tuscany! If you enjoy mountain walks and vast open views this could be your next trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

The ridge walks overlooking the Tuscan/Liguarian coastline, spotting the variety of butterflies, beetles and wildflowers across the alpine meadows. Simply gorgeous.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Liz was an incredible guide. She is unstoppable in her drive, energy and commitment to everyone’s personal experience. She was resourceful, knowledgeable and expertly mountain skilled, but beyond that, Liz was beyond wonderful and took care of all our needs - including our washing !

Advice for Potential Travellers

Check the challenge level is suitable for your ability, the ridge hikes require some low key scrambling and there are a few exposed sections with impressive drops. You are on the mountains for long days with 1000m ascent /decent typically. So worth it if this is for you .

Loire Valley: Walks, Wine & Chateaux

Good choice of guide. Good selection of places to visit and restaurants.

He was always concerned about the well being of the group in the very hot weather. He was very helpful at restaurants explaining the menus. He was very sociable to the group.

Walking Northern Tuscany

Exodus travel adventures always deliver the best locations, the best guides with local knowledge and hand picked accommodations that work so well for each activity.

Most Inspirational Moment

For me, my highlights were the long walks along the mountain spines with 360 degree views across the Tuscany/Liguaria coastline and the ridge walk that separates Tuscany from Emilia Romagna with abundant wildlife and alpine flowers at every footstep.

Liz is truly a superstar guide. She is dedicated, knowledgeable, sociable and always strives to include everyone and ensure each individual is getting the best out of their trip. This was my second Exodus trip with Liz, put her in the mountains and she is impressive.

Highlights of Albania

Albania itself was a pleasant surprise, the tour was good to see a lot of the country, culture, history, food and people. It was inexpensive and best of all Artur the guide was excellent, informative with his knowledge and duty of care and detail. Driver, Diu was very good driver and looked after us.They both work very well together and made the holiday awesome

The highlights were the family lunch, the two traditional homes we got to see as they were very different and amazing to see how families lived. The history of Albania and its troubles and the historical sites. People themselves all around us were polite and welcoming, scenery was also amazing

Artur was an amazing guide, attention to detail, care of the group, imparting his knowledge. He would help people out where he could and go beyond to make sure we were all looked after. His ability to think what else needed to be done, take notes of what could be done better for the next group from our comments etc. He continually asked us for feedback of hotels and venues etc. was impressive.
