Enjoyment and Exhilaration in equal measure.

Another fantastic cycling and cultural adventure. The Indonesian people showed us nothing but friendliness and warm inviting smiles. Memories to treasure.

Most Inspirational Moment

Day 3 cycle up to the crater rim of Batur Volcano gave us all a real sense of achievement. Day 7 hike up to the sulphurous crater lake of IJEN volcano presented a diversionary challenge from cycling and was worth every step we took to get there.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Wira and his support team did a tremendous job in making this an experience never to be forgotten. They kept us fed and hydrated for the entirety of the trip. We were constantly kept up to date with the geography, politics, flora and fauna and all aspects of Indonesian culture. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Advice for Potential Travellers

A challenging trip worth every ounce of effort required. Overall the cycling was moderate except for a couple of tough days. Dig in and the rewards will be replete.

Fantastic walking and stunning scenery

The Tour du Mont Blanc is an iconic trek and was a fantastic experience with treks in France , Italy and Switzerland as we circled the Mont Blanc area. 10 days of long walks with large ascents and descents often on difficult terrain. Camping adds its own challenges . 3 rest days were useful to recover and have opportunity to explore courmayeur and Chamonix . Overall a great trip and would recommend it

So many but in particular I loved the last 2 days with trek up to Col de Tricot and Brevent

Thoughts on Group Leader

Tim was our guide and was excellent- took real interest in everyone, always had time for anyone, kept group together which was hard with differing levels of fitness, explained and showed us the flora and fauna etc and got us safely round a difficult trek. Also should mention the camp manager Albert who was great cook, very amenable and a great entertainer and fascinating character

Advice for Potential Travellers

Do it- it’s great. But this isn’t a walk in the park- it is physically demanding and it’s probably unfair on fellow trekkers and yourself if you are constantly struggling and holding the group up because the terrain, ascents and distances etc are too much. Camp life is fun and easier and enjoyable if the group helps share chores.

The Best Trails in Spain's Oldest National Park

I loved the hikes on this trip, especially the gorge walk and the hike on day 6. Really enjoyed the week in the mountains with our group and spending the week in Arenas de Cabrales. Most hikes we did not see anyone so it was nice feeling we had the trails to ourselves. The gorge walk is very popular so there are other hikers, but it is a long walk so did not feel crowded. Really impressed with the hikes on the itinerary. I feel I could not do these hikes on my own and find some of these trails so being with an experienced guide with Exodus was the way to go.

Most Inspirational Moment

Getting to the top on the mountain on the hike on day 6 and enjoying lunch with the group on the top of the mountain! This was my favorite hike on the trip. We were lucky with nice weather and clear skies to fully enjoy the day and get the best photos. You get the best views of the Picos on this day.

Thoughts on Group Leader

We were lucky with three guides on our departure. Alvaro, Alex, and Adrian did an excellent job leading our group on the trails. Some parts were not the easiest and they helped us. They also gave excellent tips throughout the week in improving my hiking. And I enjoyed getting to know them for the week.

Bring a camera! You will get the best photos of the mountains here.

A fantastic (but challenging!) week in the beautiful mountains of Transylvania

Transylvania is a fantastic destination for hiking with stunning scenery, fabulous views, and so many wildflowers.
The areas we hiked in felt remote and unspoilt. We saw very few hikers on the routes we took and even had one of the mountain huts to ourselves.
As some of the other reviews say, this is a challenging week and requires a good head for heights (some parts are very exposed) and a good level of fitness. The days are long (8-10 hours of walking on the first three days, 6 hours on the last three days as the walks were cut short to avoid afternoon storms) which means little ‘down time’. The terrain is varied (rocks and scree, pastures, meadows, forests).
A significant amount of scrambling is required the first three days, and in particular the third when heading up to La Om. The other days don’t require scrambling but are still demanding in terms of the terrain and elevation gain/loss.
Two nights are spent in simple huts, with basic facilities (outside drop toilets), but the location of Cabana Malaiesti is spectacular as well worth it.

The hike and then the long section of scrambling up to La Om peak - a real sense of achievement.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Sebi was great - friendly and patient. He paced the group well, and focused at all times on our safety when we were hiking and scrambling. On the more challenging days, Sebi was supported by a second leader, Leo.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Be prepared for the challenging nature of the trip and just go for it!

An unforgettable journey through Japan

I travelled as a Exodus staff member – this was fantastic trip that showcased a diverse side of Japan beyond the major cities. The itinerary was well balanced, the food was incredible, and every destination offered something unique. Highlights included staying in a traditional guesthouse in Nikko, relaxing in a private onsen, and visiting places like Gion and Miyajima. Highly recommended.

Staying in the traditional guesthouse in Nikko and enjoying a private onsen ( to yourself) surrounded by forest was unforgettable. It was peaceful, authentic, and one of the highlights of the trip.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Masa was excellent—friendly, organized, and always happy to help. He kept the trip running smoothly, recommended great local restaurants, and made travelling around Japan easy and enjoyable.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Pack light, wear comfortable walking shoes ( lots of steps), and be ready to use Japan's excellent public transport.

A triumph of a trip!

This trip to Norway was a really spectacular experience. We did so much and each day we looked at what we’d done and it was amazing discussing how much we had fit into each day. However, somehow the pace felt gentle and relaxing and there was space to breathe and take it all in. It was so more than a sightseeing holiday. I felt that we made true personal connections and learned so much from the local interactions entwined into this journey. The landscapes were of course a huge highlight but learning to cook a local dish, sharing a cider with the owner of a stunning Fjord-side orchard, chatting to our wonderful guide about her life in Norway. These were the things which made this trip extraordinary and set it apart from others. Oh and the food will blow you away!

Most Inspirational Moment

There are so many incredible experiences to draw from on this trip and the combination all rolled into one will stay with me. I loved the sea swim and sauna and the kayaking was so wonderful but simply arriving into the Fjord country and getting our first breath-taking view was a true pinch me moment.

Ashild was wonderful. She was extremely well organised, friendly and very experienced. She shared stories and experiences and bought the group together in a very professional but relaxed way. We all felt like we left with a friend in Ashild and she was a real asset to the tour.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If you are looking for a trip to Norway which offers more than just the views then seriously consider this trip. Be prepared to experience new things, meet some wonderful characters share some magnificent food with equally magnificent people. The weather can be changeable so bring lots of layers, and a waterproof case for your phone. Comfortable walking shoes and walking poles if you may need. For me, these were useful for the downhill walks. Evenings were very relaxed but if you wanted to dress up a little there could be opportunity but equally no real need to worry.

Elephants and Hippos galore!

This was one of our best Exodus holidays. Canoeing down the Zambezi is such a wonderful experience. We saw hippos, elephants and crocodiles galore. The night sky was fantastic.
Sitting chatting around the campfire at night, and also at breakfast, was lovely.
The wildlife camping was more comfortable than I had expected. The tents are good quality, the sleeping mat is comfortable, (and doubles as cushioning on the canoe seats). A bowl of lovely hot water is provided each morning to wash with.
The meals are lovely and generous and cooked with fresh produce. A hearty cooked breakfast is a perfect start to a day on the river.

Watching elephant families come to drink from the inlet opposite where we were sitting in the fly camp.

Thoughts on Group Leader

CB, aided by Gago, was brilliant. He is very knowledgeable about the wildlife as well as being an experienced canoeist. He showed us the wildlife while keeping us safe. He is fun and caring, frequently making sure everyone was ok. Gago was a solid support guide and will make a superb guide in the future.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Book it! Embrace the wild camping. Get involved, - its fun working as a team in setting up, breaking camp and preparing meals. Be prepared for some strong head winds which can make the canoeing harder work. It wouldn't hurt to have some Canadian canoeing experience, however the Group Leader will give instruction and advice. Travel light, - it makes packing up each morning quick and easy. Load a star gazing app on your phone. It's quite tiring arriving after a night flight and arriving at the start camp after dark. Think about arriving a day early in Lusaka. We arrived 5 days before hand and organised tours of Lusaka and Victoria Falls.

Experience the REAL Norway

As an Exodus reservations team member who has travelled on many Exodus trips of all types, this one truly took my breath away! And I’m not just talking about the Arctic dip we took in the sea after warming up in the sauna one morning.
Nothing was too much trouble, and the hospitality was some of the best I have ever experienced. Every detail felt effortless, every host genuinely passionate about sharing their corner of Norway.

You genuinely taste your way through Norway, from a bacalao cooking experience and an organic cider tour overlooking the fjords that felt straight out of a storybook, to sampling reindeer and steak, and raise a horn of mead in a Viking house to the thrum of “Skål!” and “Cheers!”

The itinerary is perfectly crafted, making each day feel like the turn of a page in a very old book filled with dramatic landscapes, trolls and medieval history.

Perfect for anyone wanting to not just say they’ve been to Norway, but that they’ve explored its wild heart and experienced the stories, traditions and landscapes that make this country so unforgettable.

Most Inspirational Moment

One of the most magical moments was gliding by kayak across the glass-still waters of the fjords, the mountains reflected perfectly around us. As we paddled through the silence, our guide brought the landscape to life with tales of King Olav, Viking legends and the serpent-like beasts said to lurk in the dark depths below. It felt less like an excursion and more like stepping into a Norse saga

Åshild was a delight! I really enjoyed her many stories of her personal experiences of growing up in Norway, such as visiting her fathers cabin in the woods and hiking up fjords for hours for a thrilling 30 minute ski down! She has a way of making you feel Norway is your home too in the short time you are there. Her warm demeanor, excellent storytelling and precise organization made the trip flow like a dream!

Advice for Potential Travellers

This isn't a trip for ticking Norway off a list. It's for those who want to dive into its traditions, connect with its people, and experience the raw beauty and folklore that flow through its veins in complete comfort. Come home not just saying you've been to Norway, but feeling as though you've lived a piece of its story and explored its wild, untamed heart.

Trip of a Lifetime

This safari exceeded every expectation. Exodus has created an outstanding itinerary that showcases the very best of Botswana and Zimbabwe, combining incredible wildlife encounters with comfortable lodges, knowledgeable guides, and unforgettable experiences.
The wildlife viewing was simply exceptional and we were fortunate enough to witness some truly remarkable moments.
The lodges were all unique, each with its own character, but every one was comfortable, welcoming and of excellent quality. The food was good and plentiful.
We travelled with three couples and five solo travelers, and it was an absolute pleasure sharing this adventure with such wonderful people. The friendships, laughter and shared excitement added another special dimension to an already incredible experience.

Baby rhino nursing from its mother was incredibly special, while seeing a leopard with its kill high in a tree and spending time observing painted dogs were experiences we’ll never forget.

Our guide Siziba and driver Gift were outstanding. Gift’s smile lit up every day, and he did a fantastic job navigating the long driving days and challenging roads while keeping the group relaxed. Siziba’s attention to detail was second to none. His goal was always to give us the best possible experience. His knowledge, passion, and dedication were exceptional. Together, they made an incredible team and played a huge part in making this trip so memorable

Advice for Potential Travellers

The early morning game drives can be surprisingly cold, especially in the open vehicles. Bring a warm jacket, gloves, a toque, and a buff or neck gaiter. A power bank is very useful for the longer travel days, and a headlamp is essential for your stay in the Okavango Delta. If you have room in your luggage, bring some school supplies for the local school visit. The children and teachers are incredibly grateful, and it’s a small gesture that makes a real difference. Finally, enjoy every moment. From the spectacular wildlife and beautiful lodges to the friendships you’ll make along the way, this is an adventure you’ll remember for the rest of your life. I would recommend this Exodus safari without hesitation.

Cycling in sunny Sicily

We just returned from this trip (June, 2026) and were blessed with nice sunny weather (not too hot fortunately) and a great group of cyclist with a passionate local leader!

Visiting the various Baroque Cities (Noto, Syracuse) and completing the various climbs (including Cavagrande del Cassibile).

Thoughts on Group Leader

Davide was amazing. He is passionate about his native Sicily, its history and the environment. He is humorous and inspired us with just enough story so that we can explore it more once home. He is a great cyclist and knows the route very well. He kept us safe and make sure there were enough cold water stops (especially in the hot weather) to refuel. He also introduce us to great restaurants where I had my best Italian pizza and sea food (even better than in Puglia)!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Although the distance and ascent does not look that bad, the hot weather makes it a bit harder than usual (bring plenty of factor 50 sun cream and drink lots)! There are plenty of chances to swim in the warm Med. sea as well as relaxing in the lovely hotel pools so don't forget your swim suits... The architecture, history and scenery of Sicily are fascinating so some research (or watch some BBC iPlayer) on Sicily will make the trip much more engaging!
