Thoughts on Group Leader
Edjon was quite a character..a walking history book on Albania! However, sometimes all that travellers need is a simple bullet point answer from a question & Edjon didnt seem to 'get' that. Some of his talks were v long speeches with too much info so in the end you dont absorb anything. I cant identify with recent Reviews here with regard to Ed socialising with the group as the only meal Ed had with us was the final evening & that was q brief. However that could be down to Group dynamics or it being the end of a long season.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Pack lightly as you are moving every morning. Be prepared for a couple of days long drives. Take GBP & change them into LEK when there (you cant buy LEK in the UK). Most places take cards & Euros but you need local currency as well. If you're not very mobile then it's essential to take a walking pole for 1 of the walks (which is really a hike uphill).

We’re very grateful to Barbara for sharing such a detailed and thoughtful account of her trip to Albania. It’s fantastic to hear how much she appreciated the country’s stunning scenery, warm hospitality, and the variety of historical and cultural sites included in the itinerary!
Barbara rightly notes that this trip involves a fast-paced schedule, covering a lot of ground with multiple overnight stops. We appreciate that this can feel hectic at times, especially with long drives through mountainous terrain, which is something we try to flag in our trip notes.
We’re sorry to hear that the breakfast experience at Hotel Pogradec didn’t meet expectations. This feedback has been passed directly to our local team and the hotel itself, as we expect all accommodation partners to maintain a consistent standard across all aspects of service.
Regarding the tour leader, we’re glad Barbara valued Edjon’s insights but also take her point about the need for more concise communication at times. We’ll be following up with Edjon to provide constructive feedback and support, ensuring his guiding style remains informative while also being accessible and responsive to the group’s needs.
We’re grateful to Barbara for recognising the overall value of the trip and the richness of the experience, and we hope to welcome her again on another adventure soon.
