Most Inspirational Moment

The Path of the Gods walk was my highlight. I loved walking the coast, being shown the local agricultural traditions. Being led by a guide (Paolo Longo) who had so much care for our well being and enjoyment. Paolo had detailed local knowledge which he imparted and listened to what we wanted and adapted for us. We were an older group and led us in stretching exercises to prepare us for walking.

Paolo was approachable, very helpful, fun, informative and respectful of everyone's ability. He went beyond his role to provide suggestions of places to visit and provided lots of information via the WhatsApp group he created. He appeared even on the free day to ensure we each knew what we were doing for the activity we had chosen.

Cycling through Sri Lanka gave us a unique, immersive perspective of the country, allowing us to deeply experience its local culture, customs, food, and traditions while learning about its spices, teas, and wildlife—including memorable sightings of leopards and elephants in their natural habitat. There There were lots of highlights! The cycle on the 1st day to Germenj where we stayed at a working trout farm and encountered cows with bells for the 1st time was brilliant as was the ride to Kelcyra and the coffee stop by the river followed by the tour of Gjirokastra. Dhimitri was excellent! He explained the route, distances, elevation etc accurately and clearly and divided his time equally between all the group members. He was attentive and super approachable. My case did not arrive at the airport and he spent a lot of time chasing BA on my behalf

I don't think it's an surprise that Alan was a wonderful leader. You can tell he's very knowledgeable about all the parts of the trip. He made excellent suggestions on where we could do more or less, when to venture out and when not to. He made the trip really great and I feel very lucky he got to show us a lovely bit of Croatia!

Turning the corner and seeing the Vesuvius crater for the first time! Visiting Ravello which is a gorgeous little village and much quieter than bustling Amalfi!

Veriano had a great sense of humour and shared his knowledge of the local area with us. He built in lots of rest stops, especially when negotiating the many, many, many, many steps! He always ensured that everybody was happy and didn't feel rushed which made it a good experience all around!

Advice for Potential Travellers

The best bit of advice is to train for the thousands of steps that you will walk on, especially 'step down' exercises to lessen the burden on your knees or use poles if you are confident with them. There were 3 walking and 1 sightseeing group at the hotel at the same time as us so be prepared for itinerary changes-we ended up walking 3 back to back 7 mile walks which can be challenging! Come prepared and have a fantastic time!
