Juan Carlos & fellow guides Havier & Diego great – helpful & able.
Cooks were amazing! Tents up each lunch time & 3 courses. Also a portable loo with its own tent!
All the Inca ruins leading up to, and including, Machu Picchu. The lunches : )
Group leader was fab. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic imparting it. Great sense of humour - even in a 2nd language! In the latter days would have liked more accurate estimates of time / distances when psyching myself up to the long flat rides. Missed seeing Machu Picchu from opposite mountain - due to change in schedule. I was sorry about this - thought we could have done bus transfer to next hotel the evening of 45km descent to keep us on schedule...
Take polyprops. Buy a plastic emergency poncho.

Great trip for wildlife lovers which gives you the best opportunity to see a Tiger.
Visiting 3 National Parks allows you to see a variety of landscapes, the full range of Indian bird and wildlife.
We all saw lots of evidence of Tigers including paw prints and alarm calls, and even caught glimpses of Tigers as they crossed road, or were asleep in the bush. And then finally on game drive number 15, that's over 60 hours on safari, with 5am starts and getting bounced around and covered in dust in the back of a jeep...we had a great clear close sighting of a magnificent Tiger. Fantastic.
Our group leader Krishna was excellent, helpful, informative and with a great sense of humour.
We took up the opportunity to do two extra optional game drives. The more time you spend in the parks then the better chance of seeing a Tiger.
A great week graded level 4 But I felt more like 4 to 5. The guide Jose was excellent and very professionally handled the helicopter rescue for an injured member of our party who tripped and injured his knee . Excellent dining at our small family run pension- coeliacs well catered for .
Jose made superb varied sandwiches for lunch.
Getting to the top of the mountains and general camaraderie
Superb very professional and experienced guide
Need to be fairly fit, able to walk at a reasonable pace to 4000 feet. Previous experience of walking on fells essential This is not for novice walkers .
Made memories for life on this trip. Summit day was torture but our guides made getting to Gilmans Point (before getting to Uhuru Peak) an incredible moment. The team of guides and porters are exceptional. This is our second trip with Exodus and will use them again for future ones because we trust their ability to take care of us, from booking to the itinerary and guides
Coming up to the last ten minutes before reaching Gilmans Point, we’d been hiking for seven hours in the cold and dark uphill so we’re exhausted. The sun was rising so we had a spectacular view and out of nowhere the guides all start singing. It made reaching that point honestly one of the best experiences of my life!
Makeke was fantastic, he took such good care of each and every one of us
Expect summit day to be tough, be prepared to dig deep to get to the top, it’s worth it! Take ear plugs for sleeping! Be prepared to donate some clothes to the porters at the end of the trek. The clothes they wear are all donated.
Wonderful journey through the varied landscape of this friendly country- through paddy fields and tea plantations, taking in historic temples and monuments, and pausing at local cafes for delicious local fare. Some epic climbs and descents, on excellent and well maintained bikes, with a fantastic support team and superb tour guide (Suresh).
We felt that the trip gave us a good insight into the culture/scenery/history/flora/fauna of Sri Lanka, the accommodation was generally excellent, and where more basic it was characterful and adequate.
Overall, this trip was an epic, and highly recommend it!
The grinding climb up to Nuwara Eliya through a torrential downpour and thunderstorm, with night falling before we reached the summit, then the hair raising descent in the dark, and arriving at the warm haven of the Hill Club. Unforgettable and possibly outrageous, but none of us would have stopped and taken the bus!
Suresh is simply the best tour guide I have ever encountered, period. Commanding yet courteous, informative and inspirational, ensuring that we were all looked after and assisting the group bonding. After the end of the tour, he even helped out one of the group make her boat transfer to the Maldives after an oversight by the agents neglecting to ensure that her ticket had been validated by the resort- above and beyond expectation....
Do ensure good sun protection. Electrolyte tablets for rehydration. We didn't take the usual lycra padded shorts, but used MTB short equivalents with sheep skin saddle savers, and had less problems with butt soreness than most in the group. Make sure that you are hill climbing fit- we had 4 full days of fairly strenuous cycling back to back. Consider taking bike lights- would have been grateful for my "twinklies" on the final ride in the dark to Nuwara Eliya.
Great way to sample the exotic medina in Marrakech and the rich beauty of the High Atlas mountain.
No one single thing - just the combination and contrasts of the two components.
Wiry and knowledgable, Hassan was a very effective and at times cheeky (:>) leader, very much at home in the hills among the villages and villagers.
more than a good introduction to what Morocco has to offer, this trip is a great to way to sample something of an imperial city and the splendour of the High Atlas. would recommend going a bit close to the main season than we did, as we encountered a few days of very mixed, changeable conditions.
The region was rewarding and not very touristy. Towns were full of atmosphere. Some enjoyable walks. Hotels were close to centres. Not too much coach travel and enough free time. Warm and friendly guide. But quite a bit of walking so
Might be difficult for those even with some mobility problems and not all accommodation great. Free day a bit problematic as limited public transport and a day in arivabello not all that interesting. But guide helped and we went to two nice towns so not insuperable. Local food and wine was good. Recommended but be prepared to walk
The towns all full of atmosphere and the whole week more than any individual visit was inspirational
A lovely lady lively and energetic
Don’t go if you can’t walk easily or want luxury resorts. You might prepare by learning a little Italian as outside hotels English isn’t much spoken though you could get by
I am very happy with Exodus travel. First time I was using a big organization and a tour operator with a big group. I must say I was positively surprised!
The trip was very well managed and well structured as an overall. The local guide did an incredible job and he was the best guide I ever had.
The group was great and I was lucky to be with such good people. I have really enjoyed and spend a great time together.
I am also happy with the back management of exodus in London. With all the info they have sent and how they have helped me from remote. Only point: to improve the chat online service as I still had to call to make the payment and give my card details on the phone. Maybe add a paypal system or a more user friendly card payment (that accepts cards from outside UK or similar… anyways my credit card payment didn’t go through online and had to call to the UK… which was a bit expensive from Dubai)
Food! The Marble Mountain Halong Bay Hoi An Delta river (the small boat the guide add the last minute) War museum
The best! Great guy and amazing service! Very attentive to details. SUPER organized!! Caring and approachable. Honestly I was super happy with him (and I always had small problems with guides, but never with him!!!) Never had such a punctual and exact coordination with transports, busses timings, boats connections etc. Never waited a second, all very smooth. Maybe to be more concise when speaking about the most relevant things of a monument or a site. But all was interesting and adding great information
Bring an extra small bag for short nights out in the homestays (and leave the big luggage at the main hotel). Bring a good repellent with deet.
