RAMBLING IN PUGLIA
Booking efficient; follow up was not – I had to chase; maybe the late switch from Headwater to Exodus was to blame. An interesting and varied trip, with the leader Luigina Geusa contributing a lot to that plus a good group of fellow walkers. Matera hotel (Hotel Sassi) was not good, but the hotels in Ostuni (La Terra) and Alberobello (Ramapendula) were much better.
Most Inspirational Moment
Inspirational is too strong a word, but there were memories to retain from all of Matera, Ostuni, Lecce and Alberobello.
Thoughts on Group Leader
She, Luigina Geusa, was pivotal to the success of the trip. Her network of contacts was excellent, and she made a really successful job of understanding the different participants on the trip and building rapport with each of them. Her commitment and passion for the environment showed through clearly
Advice for Potential Travellers
For this trip in mid October, the weather can fluctuate so think carefully about what you bring. In the event, the weather worked out well.

Beautiful Vietnam
Having had Vietnam on my travel list for a while, this year I decided to give it a go. And I’m so glad that I did, it is one of the most beautiful countries that I have been to. The scenery is stunning, the countryside is so green and lush; the food is to die for, all full of flavour and so fresh it feels oozes health and goodness; and the people are friendly and helpful. If you’ve not been I would definitely put it on your list. This tour has it all, big cities, a peaceful overnight in Ha Long Bay, an overnight sleeper train, cultural delights in Hoi An and an overnight stay in the Mekong Delta at a guest house.
Most Inspirational Moment
Visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels - fascinating to see how they lived and to be able to walk/crouch through the tunnels
Visiting the cave in Ha Long bay
Taking a cooking lesson in Hoi An
Visiting the War museum in Saigon (HCMC)
Having dinner with a local family and lunch made by nuns in Hue
Thoughts on Group Leader
Ngoc was a very good leader, who kept us all on track and was ready to flexible enough to make changes to the itinerary if there were adverse weather conditions.
He did seem to be overly cautious about making sure we didn't leave anything behind or get robbed, which whilst endearing was a bit over the top on occasions.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Pack light and make use of laundries
make sure you have something to cover your shoulders
have an umbrella handy at all times

Unlike anywhere else
A truly stunning country – vast open spaces, wide skies, sunsets, stars, sand dunes, and a national park crammed with animals and birds. We stayed in some wonderful lodges with huge views, saw the desert from above and came back with many memories, and even more photos.
Most Inspirational Moment
The flight over the desert - and the night drive in Etosha - and seeing a hyena in daylight - and the sand dunes (such fine orange sand) - and the colours of the landscape (like a painting) - and the herds of elephants playing in the watering holes ... I could go on....
Thoughts on Group Leader
Shane was great - knew his stuff, worked hard, good sense of humour. Maybe a little misleading when it came to the walks (Waterberg is not a stroll)
Advice for Potential Travellers
This trip does have some long days driving but the stunning scenery and some lovely accommodation (Sesriem and Ugab in particular) make it all worth while. Be prepared for heat and dust and some bumpy roads. Don't worry too much about the malaria tablets, half our group did not have them and Etosha turned out not to be a malaria-risk area. Some of the accomm. is more basic, but it is the location that counts. Take a good telephoto lens - and if you can afford the desert flight then go for it. Although the notes say water is provided on the truck, it wasn't; we bought water from supermarkets.

A fantastic week
This was a great holiday & I’d thoroughly recommend it. The walks were far more strenuous than I expected but the views were spectacular which made it all worthwhile.
Most Inspirational Moment
Walking down into Portofino - so picturesque.
Also the stunning Cinque Terre with the coloured houses - amazing!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Michaela was lovely. Friendly, helpful & knowledgeable - everything you could want from a group leader.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Read the brief properly & do some walks or gym work to prepare for this trip.
Wear appropriate footwear - this is serious walking - it's very steep in places with uneven surfaces. Walking poles are definitely useful.

Prague to Budapest ride
Great ride through the rolling hills of Czech of republic and on through to Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. Many interesting stops along the way. Glad I did some training before the ride as we had some windy days.
Most Inspirational Moment
Riding along the old Iron curtain.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Peter and Dana were great. I required my brakes to be switched to accommodate my hands and even though I had some bike problems and switched three different bikes, Peter gladly switched for me.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Do some training, will make the trip much more enjoyable.

Trip of a life time!
I had wanted to visit Jordan and Petra for a long time and I finally got around to booking, choosing exodus. We are an active couple and wanted a trip that would challenge us but we could also see the sites.
This trip had everything we wanted and it did not disappoint.
Most Inspirational Moment
Wadi Rum desert is an incredible landscape. Nothing like I have ever seen. From waking up and seeing the view from your tent to sitting around a campfire with your new found friends looking at the most insane starry sky. I never thought it was possible to see the Milky way so clearly, in wadi rum it is.
Petra. The whole day was amazing. Its so much more than The Treasury. We walked for 10 miles that day and loved every minute!
Thoughts on Group Leader
Issa our group leader was great, he loved telling us stories and explaining the history of the area. He was so organised, so organised that every looked so easy. There was no issues.
I would also like to mention the brothers who looked after us from the moment we stayed at their Bedouin camp to wild camping for the next few days. Great hospitality and company.
Advice for Potential Travellers
If I were to do this trip again. Id pack half of what I took.
I would also use an exodus sleeping bag and take a sleeping bag liner with me instead. I found that it was warm enough not to use a sleeping bag. We went in early October.
Wet wipes are a must as long as long as you don't litter and a head torch is deffo handy when you have a call of nature at 4am in the morning.
Ooo and a battery pack for your camera when you are out in the desert, forget your phone theres no signal, enjoy the break!
Blisters: Take blister plasters with you. I had a couple put plasters on straight away and no issues or discomfort. Catch them straight away!

Delivered as advertised, enhanced by the weather and autumnal colours. Excellent.
A holiday that very much delivered as per the trip notes, with the varied hikes only being enhanced by the great weather and autumnal colours in the forests.
A well established trip with a very experienced group leader and a good bunch of fellow travellers.
For me, staying in one location is a plus, with only short minibus journeys required to reach the start point for each hike. And that one location was a lovely, relaxing one.
The hikes themselves were of the activity level expected and challenging enough for the group. The rewards were great – generally involving walking through colourful beech or chestnut forests before reaching ridges and peaks with stunning views. Few other hikers were seen throughout the week. The hikes on days 3 and 7 stood out for me.
All of the group visited Lucca on the “free day”, which was a good choice, with plenty to explore for a good few hours.
The trip also introduced me to the life of those living in the area, including exploring towns and villages. As would be expected, there are plenty of churches and other religious features.
Most Inspirational Moment
Hard to pick out one inspirational moment. It was more about the collective week and the varied experiences. But as noted previously, the hikes on days 3 and 7 were delightful.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Clearly very experienced and able to handle any apparent eventuality (not that we really had any of significance).
Worth noting that (due to EU driving regulations, I think) she was with us for four of the six whole days, plus the two travel days. She lead on all of the mountain hikes, and did so very well.
For me, she did dwell too much on what she'd done over the years for the trip and for previous travellers rather than let us judge her on first hand knowledge. Maybe some like to hear this, but it was not for me.
Advice for Potential Travellers
You might be able to come up with an "essentials equipment" list more appropriate than the one provided. Towel and swimming things are only necessary if you intend to swim in the pool, and that it's open. I happily wore hiking shoes, not boots, and walking poles certainly near essential for many of us of a certain age. You most likely will need to carry 2 litres of water on some hikes.
Visiting Lucca does seem like the obvious choice for the free day.

Breathtaking trek to the Inca Capital of Machu Picchu
The Inca trail, organised by Exodus, was a thrill ride from beginning to end.
I was so impressed with the organisation of the trip. We were looked after so well that I didn’t have to think about how I was going to get around, or where my next meal would come from.
The two guides were a constant source of fascinating facts, and helped keep the group motivaated.
The group of Porters were superhuman. The camp site was stripped down as we left. They marched (And sometimes ran) past us during the trek. And always had the camp ready when we arrived. If this wasn’t impressive enough, the meals were already in the process of being prepared.
The food provided by the chef were delicious. Hadn’t expected to be eating such great food. Fish, meat and chicken were the evening meals. Also popcorn was provided as an after trek snack. So impressed
I would recommend this trek to anyone. And if this is how Exodus organise their trips, I will definitely use them again!!
Most Inspirational Moment
Arriving at the Sun Gste and looking down on Machu Picchu for the first time. Utterly breathtakingly!!
Thoughts on Group Leader
The group leader was a font of knowledge. He was always full of energy and enthusiasm.
He was also very good rumoured, which fitted in with our all-british group perfectly.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Book with Exodus, and don't worry about a thing.
Take your time on the trek. It's not a race. The second day is a big asscent, and you don't want to rush it. If you start to feel the effects of altitude, you should take a break and slow down. Many of us had mild headaches, and a few had digestive upsets. But don't be put off by this. It's all manageable, and the trek leaders are used to dealing with it.

Amazing, fantastic, loved it
Loved it, loved it, loved it! I had wanted to visit Bhutan after seeing a film about scientists looking for the Yeti decades ago. Didn’t see a yeti but found a country that is so special, with a landscape that is so special and with people that are so special.
After the dirty madness of landing in Kathmandu the feeling of peace on landing at Paro airport for the start of the Bhutan trip was very special. Bhutan is a clean, welcoming country at peace with itself.
The trek, although not demanding, was lovely and gives a snapshot of a wonderful countryside.
The visits to various dzongs and stupas was interesting and the final visit to a monastery where the monks where involved in some of their rituals for a village festival the next day was fascinating.
As a vegetarian and an animal lover this country was the nearest to perfect for me. Loved the food and the fact that although there were dogs everywhere (they are mostly cared for by the community or the monks) I never saw any in distress or starving (as I did in Kathmandu).
Most Inspirational Moment
The explosion of colour at the monasteries, the prayer flags in the mountains, the fact that shop keepers put out food and sacking on the pavements for the street dogs, the peace, the tranquility of the mountains and the humility and care of the support crew on the trek.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Both Norbu and Ganga were kind, gracious and thoughtful. Norbu's knowledge of his country is excellent. The whole support crew both on and off trek were kind, considerate and looked for ways to help.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Kathmandu is dirty, loud and unpleasant. I was a woman on her own and would not have been happy wandering around after sunset on my own.
