Amalfi Coast Bike Tour
My family was a group of 12 that did the Amalfi Coast/Cilento bike tour. We enjoyed the 5 days of biking and saw many sites that we wouldn’t likely have found without the great tour guide Paolo. Our group of 12 was joined by 4 others and they were great group members who were a lot of fun.
The bikes were fantastic and definitely helped with the challenging climbs on this tour. It was also great having the support vehicle in the back of the group looking out for the bikers.
Most Inspirational Moment
Completing the last day of the biking. 270 kilometers over the 5 biking days.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Paolo was a great tour guide and knew lots about the history of the land and was very knowledgeable about the local culture. He effectively dictated the pace such that both the stronger and weaker riders were accommodated for.
Advice for Potential Travellers
This tour has quite a few costs in addition to the tour itself. Although breakfast and most dinners are included, lunches are not and also there were quite a few unanticipated costs.
Be very cautious of wet tarmac. It was VERY slippery and our group had an incident where two people slipped and fell in a wet downhill turn.

Cycle Vietnam
The trip organization was great, the balance of biking and van transfers was perfect. We found tours to be informative and eye opening. It was interesting to get the local perspective on the wars in Vietnam.
Most Inspirational Moment
Safely navigating the traffic circle in Dlat during rush hour.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Danh was exceptional he made the whole trip worthwhile.
Advice for Potential Travellers

Bolzano to Venice
This was my first cycling holiday with a group , normally I cycle self guided which allows me time to stop and stare and take photographs. From day one I found myself way behind the other members, my pace was averaging 19 – 20 kph, which is above the advertised “Moderate: 13-16km/8-10miles an hour”, but this was not fast enough. I must emphasise that for me, it was not a problem as exodus provide some excellent maps and I am used to cycling alone so I never felt lost. However, I still had a great 6 days, saw some brilliant scenery passed though great villages and towns. The restaurants and cafes we stopped at provided excellent choice of food and drinks at a reasonable price. All hotels were comfortable and well located. Evening meals with this diverse group were in well chosen restaurants and I thoroughly enjoyed their company as well as the food and drinks
Most Inspirational Moment
The most memorable was the ride (glide!) down to Lake Garda, excellent views of the Lake as I descended
Thoughts on Group Leader
I didn’t really have that much contact with the Leader Michele, but from my perspective he is one of life’s gentleman, and seemed generally concerned about the group members enjoyment. His family that we met in his home town of Viceza are delightful.
Advice for Potential Travellers
If you want more time to visit the cities and towns then I would suggest self guided with a day’s stop over in the places you would want to investigate

Stepping out in Amalfi
A well-paced walking tour with stunning scenery, staying in a friendly, family-run hotel
Most Inspirational Moment
The sensational scenery on all of the walks, especially Walk of the Gods and Tre Calli
Thoughts on Group Leader
Albert was a lovely chap whose love of the land shone through
Advice for Potential Travellers
At times, the walking can be fairly demanding; there are lots - and I mean lots! - of steps and occasional rocky paths and scree. Be mindful that within any group there will be differing levels of fitness and experience. Walking boots are essential and a pole is worth considering .
Be prepared for variations in temperature ... Bomerano is at > 2000 feet so it can get a little chilly later in the day

Puglia
An interesting introduction to a region of Italy often overlooked. There was so much to see and do, plus staying in a trulli house in Alberobello was an amazing experience. The food was superb and the wine amazing.
Most Inspirational Moment
So many, visit olive trees thousands of years old. The caverns, each cave better than the last. Staying in a trulli.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Giuseppe was very passionate about showing us his part of Italy, from introducing us to amazing food and wines made from local products, to showing us beautiful little towns.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Food is a little more expensive than the trip notes suggest. Double the recommendations as there is so much amazing food and wine to trip.

Amalfi Coast Cycling
A great holiday that pushed us to achieve more than we expected
Most Inspirational Moment
Completing a 75k trip to Sorrento - way beyond any distance attempted before. Completed due to the inspiring leadership of Paolo !
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our group leader Paolo Longo is an exceptional guy - able to lead a mixed age/ability group so everyone felt challenged and ready to literally go the extra mile. Really genuine enthusiasm for showing us something different everywhere we went. Equally we were supported by Raphaelo throughout with instant technical help and always there to ensure we made safe passage along busy routes. A team that were fun and professional throughout.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Do prepare to get up to at least 30k days so you can enjoy every minute of this spectacular hilly route.

Splendour in the Picos!
This trip was amazing – the hotel is great, food incredible (even for non meat eaters), generous hospitality, excellent location. The walks vary, all are magnificent. The area is so untouched by modern life and tourism, it is a real treat for the senses.
The location of the hotel is lovely, pretty shops, bars and restaurants – all only about 3-4 minutes away.
Most Inspirational Moment
Every day was different - from breathtaking high peaks, stunning meadows, dramatic gorges to unspoilt villages.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Alvaro is fabulous and a real credit to Exodus - he is passionate about his homeland, willing to share the history, challenges and beauty of the area, he was well aware of everyones ability, considerate and always ready with a smile and encouragement!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Don't hesitate - book the trip!

Highlights of Albania
It was more than a holiday. It was an adventure. So exciting to visit a country that is still emerging but accessible enough to explore so much of. Itinerary was full and varied but not exhausting. Gradual ‘feed’ of information from our own guide and others on route reinforced by visits to sites. Group size sensibly restricted. Living out of a suitcase not as daunting as expected as this enabled us to see so much more. Enough time allotted for most places except might have been better to have had more time in Berat and a brief stop in Durres.
Most Inspirational Moment
The inside of Orthodox churches especially in Voskopoja. The stunning mountains which went on and on.
A brief chat with a local resident in the market in Permet who was so keen to talk but we had so little time.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Erion could not have been better! He fed us with a lot of information but this was gradual. His anecdotes were amusing. A delightful sense of humour too. The frequent check-ins were handled efficiently and swiftly by him. Apparently relaxed yet very efficient.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Get there as quickly as you can before Albania is westernised! As yet there is no McDonalds but a KFC has already reached Tirana.

Walking the Great Wall
What a truly unique experience to walk various sections of the wall and see rural China, as well as Beijing city and Xi’an.
Most Inspirational Moment
Apart from seeing the Great Wall in all its splendour I would say meeting the Chinese people and experiencing their culture first hand. Doing Tai Chi just before sunset was a highlight too.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our leader was Jerry Wu and I feel very privileged to have met this most interesting and engaging young gentleman, and a real gentleman he is too. He's a very colourful character (in a good way!) and his command of the English language is first rate. He looked after us so well and nothing was too much trouble. He gave tips on what we could do in our free time and always put our best interests first. He also has a wonderful sense of humour which makes his commentary all the more interesting. He was so much fun to be with.
Advice for Potential Travellers
I travelled in October. It was fresh in the mornings and evenings so, if you're nesh like me, take plenty of layers and warm pyjamas too, especially for the basic guest houses.

Sicilian Volcanoes
This was an excellent trip, not too strenuous (except the ascent of Stromboli) with spectacular volcanic sights and views. There was plenty of time for leisure and to sample the local cuisine. It was all too short.
Most Inspirational Moment
The active crater at the summit of Etna with its hissing vents and beautiful red colours from iron and yellow colours from sulphur was extremely memorable.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Our guide was lovely, doing everything to please and look after everyone so that they all had a great time. All she could perhaps do better would be to every evening at dinner tell the whole group the plans for the following day.
Advice for Potential Travellers
We went in October and on our first day on Lipari we faced steep ascents in a temperature of 29C, so beware of going at other times of the year when it's too hot.
