Our group leader was excellent and so too were all the the other sherpas without them the trip would not have been the same ,always there to help ,nothing too much trouble, felt in very safe hands at all times.Thank you.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Don't over pack, you really do need minimal clothes.Take hand cream, and cough lozenges,as luxury items.

Cuban Highlights Ride

This was a really enjoyable trip. As well as enjoying a good variety of cycling, we learned a lot about the life and politics of the country and had the chance to explore some amazing historic towns.

Most Inspirational Moment

I really enjoyed cycling through the country villages and seeing the pace of rural life. I preferred the habited areas to the coast as there was more variety of landscape. However, I also really enjoyed riding around Havana in an open-topped sixty year old Pontiac.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Alex was a very conscientious and thoughtful leader with a good sense of humour and a good manner with the group. He made every effort to ensure that we made the most of our holiday. He was also very informative about the history and politics and gave us a much greater understanding of the social issues in the country.

Advice for Potential Travellers

The holiday was graded leisurely/moderate, which I thought could be slightly misleading. I went on the Indo-China and Angkor Wat ride last year which was graded moderate. However, although the mileage in the Cuban trip was significantly less, I thought the cycling itself was harder with more hills and a regular headwind. If I had done the Cuban trip first, I might have been worried about the Indo-China trip being too hard for me. It is always difficult to judge these issues though, and sometimes it depends on the fitness and pace of the overall group.

Walking the Amalfi Coast

A fantastic week of walking and taking in the beautiful views of the Amalfi Coast. Great for solo travellers – everyone in the group very friendly and easy to get on with.
The hotel staff were brilliant, the food demos good fun and the cocktails were great!

Most Inspirational Moment

Too many moments to think of one - great sense of achievement on many of the walks especially getting to the top of Vesuvius.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader Paul was fantastic, very knowledgeable, helpful and good fun. He was shadowed by Martin that week who is also a lovely guy.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Wear good walking shoes.

A simply stunning Italian Adventure

An amazing 7 days spent, seeing the sights of Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, Capri, Nature Reserves, Mount Vesuvius and more.
A beautiful way to explore what south west Italy has to offer.

Most Inspirational Moment

The satisfaction of spending a whole day discovering such beautiful rural & coastal sights, then back to re-group in the evening for wonderful meals & wine.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Paul & Martin were absolutely amazing. Such fun to be around 2 guides with such knowledge and enthusiasm. Their passion for Italy and the outdoors certainly rubbed off!

Advice for Potential Travellers

If travelling in March/April, pack for all weather conditions. It can be cooler up in the mountains, but a hot summers day on the coast. There isn't much 'down time' on the trip, it's action packed and full of fun.

A welcome sunshine break

This holiday was a fabulous introduction to the Amalfi region with a good balance of activities and free time. The local hotel was a charming and welcoming base.

Most Inspirational Moment

I particularly enjoyed the walk from Amalfi to Ravello

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent

Advice for Potential Travellers

Enjoy!

Cuban Highlights Ride

A very well organised trip with a great leader who kept us motivated and entertained. Cuba is changing fast so great to see it firsthand. Cycling conditions were pretty good although it got hot afternoon when the combination of the heat and the hills meant the going got tough from time to time.

Most Inspirational Moment

The feeling on achievement after a good ride and seeing Cuba close up. Cycling means you can see details close up.

Thoughts on Group Leader

A great leader who kept us motivated and entertained.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Take lots of suncream ! Some basic cycling gear makes all the difference (good gloves, cycling tops and padded shorts or a gel saddle).

Jane Stirling

I have just returned from a week’s cycling in Sicily that covered 45-65 k a day. The 15-person group – Icelandics, Canadians and Brits – were immensely kind and supportive.

Most Inspirational Moment

Improving in fitness over the week and not being too far behind the real cyclists was, for me, inspirational. Off the bike, the historical sites, especially the catacombs at Syracuse, and the beautiful coastline, were also stimulating.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Leah was a an excellent leader and very knowledgeable on the history of Sicily. Giuseppe provided wonderful lunches and van back up.

Advice for Potential Travellers

I am fit, but not particularly cycling fit. I did intend to get cycling fit but the poor weather meant that I cycled in the gym whilst watching a film on the TV screen. Reality was much tougher and Sicily was hillier than I expected! So my advice would be to prepare a little better than I did. A 'moderate' ride was for me 'challenging'.

Fantastic Trip

Beautiful landscape, mostly very good weather, spectacular hikes.
We met very interesting and awesome individuals at this trip. People got along very well and were very supportive of each other.

Most Inspirational Moment

I am not sure.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Emily was a great group leader. She was very kind , encouraging , and supportive. She was well organized and made the trip quite enjoyable for everyone.

Advice for Potential Travellers

I think I do. Those hikes are much harder that you would think. They need training and a very good pair of shoes.

From the Atlantic to the Sahara

Most people had heard of Casablanca but we wanted something else. Our trip took us to teeming cities, oases and high mountains. The hotels were a good standard but sometimes the water supply failed. But this was not home and things like this you take in your stride. Morocco has many beautiful sites and smells and we sampled many of them.

Most Inspirational Moment

Reaching the rarefied mountain passes and tracks was exciting. The quiet and tranquility of the mountain streams and abandoned villages and the hospitality of the locals was inspiring. Mint tea and cake , with our group sitting cross legged on a carpeted floor, was a very memorable experience.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Khalid was brilliant. Never short of an amusing anecdote, always on the phone arranging matters ahead of our arrival, always anticipating interesting observations, he made the tour something to remember.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Morocco is a fascinating country and is deeply Muslem. Respect their customs and wear appropriate clothing. Don't photograph soldiers or police ever and when people say no to photographs, they mean it. If you want a photo of someone, ask first.

Camino April 2016

We took the trip that started from Leon and finished at the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela. Though I walked with my brother-in-law, each evening we met up in the hotel with two delightful UK couples on the same trip. The walking was not demanding to experienced walkers, though the weather in early April was varied. The Camino route is not through top quality scenery all the way; it’s a pilgrim route ! Most of the hotels were either excellent or very good.

Most Inspirational Moment

Arriving at hilltop O Cebreiro in snow and seeing the C11 chapel there. Arriving soaked at the hotel in Arzua, and getting a really warm welcome. Lining up in the office in Santiago for my certificate with walkers from numerous countries.
