Marco was fantastic the whole time, always felt safe with him, he was incredibly informative, funny, thoughtful and helpful. He went out of his way to make sure we all got the maximum out of the trip, nothing was too much trouble for him and he was a very safe driver
An excellent and varied tour with many highlights. We missed out on visiting Battambang because of border disputes but this was probably to our benefit as we had extra days in Phnom Penh and Siem Riep so we had less travelling and moving hotels and gained a lovely cycle ride round Silk Island in Phnom Penh so we didn’t miss out on anything. The pace was comfortable with quite moments but no boredom. The group was lovely, the leader excellent, the restaurants also excellent, such a variety of delicious food, beautifully presented at extremely reasonable prices (helped by a good exchange rate with the US$ but would still ahve been reasonable). The only improvement would have been the inclusion of some of the optional extras which were all excellent. I would have also been good to visit the Landmine museum and the Phnom Kulen mountains. I would say that countryside was what was most missing from this tour, we had glimpses on the day near Kampot and on Silk island but a visit to a National Park would have provided another level of contrast to those already on the tour. It would be good to provide an extension in Siem Riep to include a third day at the temples, the Landmine Museum, the floating villages and the Phnom Kulen mountains.
Difficult to say, maybe the island, maybe sunrise at Angkor Wat, maybe the palace in Phnom Penh. The tour was so varied and so good it is difficult to choose what was best.
Our leader, Chan Ly, was excellent. He paced the tour well to make sure we arrived at every location at the best time to get the best light for photos and to cope with the mid day heat. He also took us to some wonderful restaurants every night and was knowledgeable and helpful.
Allow yourselves extra days both in Phnom Penh and Siem Riep but especially in Siem Riep so you can make use of the third day on your temple pass. Also don't miss the optional sunrise at Angkor Wat, visit to the villages on the Lake near Siem Riep and the dinner show, all were excellent. The free to visit Siem Riep Botanical Garden was also lovely and only a short tuktuk ride from the hotel. Also if you don't like mountain bikes send details in advance of the type of bike you would like.
As an Exodus Employee, this entire trip was a fantastic experience. From seeing one of the best cities in the world, to seeing the changing vegetation, wilderness and wildlife, its understandable to why this is such a sought after area to see in South Africa.
The best was definitely the meerkat safari. Waking up at 5am may not be for everyone, but getting to see and visit the wonderful meerkat family after a coffee and rusk with an incredible sunrise was a bucket list experience for the books!
Malik was absolutely fantastic. He really delivered world-class service and showed how Exodus go above and beyond for their customers. He was also extremely quick thinking, thoughtful and always made sure the bus was laughing.
Our guide was knowledgeable really friendly and helpful the itinerary was great really thought out to get maximum amount possible in a relatively short time. The hotels and staff were friendly and helpful and the food was faultless
Seeing Humpback Whales on a dolphin watching trip. And the hummingbirds at a small cafe
He made the group work together really well answered many awkward questions if he wasn’t sure he looked them up. When we posted pictures on WhatsApp he identified them for us. He had an excellent knowledge of the local area and where to look for the most exciting things to see
A fabulous trip from start to finish. This was our sixth Exodus trip and easily one of the best. Everything was exceptionally well organised, with great attention to detail throughout. The cycling was fantastic, with good-quality bikes, smooth road surfaces, and excellent routes through small villages and towns. Our guide, Ruwan, was outstanding — enthusiastic, deeply knowledgeable, and always able to guide all 16 of us calmly and seamlessly from place to place. Thanks to him, we truly felt immersed in Sri Lankan culture. His team — Oshitha, Pawan, Abey, and Chatu — looked after us incredibly well and consistently went above and beyond, from refilling our water bottles at every stop without us even needing to ask, to providing wet wipes at each snack stop. The accommodation was of a good standard throughout, and the food was varied and absolutely delicious. We went at the end of January which worked well weather wise – hot and dry.
One of the real highlights was the group itself. we were very lucky to have such a cohesive group who got on extremely well, which really enhanced the whole experience. The wildlife and birdlife were incredible, and we saw so much thanks to Ruwan's eagle eye for spotting things along the way. Seeing a leopard was an absolute standout moment. Learning about Sri Lanka's history and culture was another highlight, with Ruwan bringing it all to life in an engaging and insightful way. The cycling was
Ruwan was exceptional. I cannot praise him highly enough. He and his team truly made the trip. He brought Sri Lanka's history, culture, and daily life to us in an engaging and insightful way, adding real depth to the experience. The cycling was expertly organised, with a mix of group rides and free riding that allowed everyone to cycle at their own pace while still keeping the group together, making it enjoyable for all abilities.
Sujee the tour leader was kind, responsive and dedicated to giving us the best experiences. The mixture of local communities and lovely hotels was essential in providing the best experiences.
Everyday brought a new highlight. Just meeting a great bunch of people to travel with and learning about the cultural history and continuing development of Sri Lanka was stunning.
He was an excellent leader. Kind, thoughtful, wise, safety conscious, humorous, respectful and perfect for the job!
Our guide Glenda showed us costa rica through her eyes. Our driver Mauricio was such a safe driver travelling around the highlights of costa rica. Well organised and Our guide gave us loads of info about everything.
The various national parks.
Glenda was a fantastic guide, certainly the best guide I have had with Exodus. She was enthusiastic about her country giving us a well balance view about Costa Rican life, the rain forest, a great wildlife spotter. She took excellent care of the whole group.
A great itinerary with like minded fellow travellers
Sunset at Vang Vieng from a rooftop bar watching hot air balloons and para-gliders, the waterfalls at Kuang Si, the jungle hike and sky bridges at Nam Kat
Toni did an excellent job throughout and special mention should also go to our local guide who also did an excellent job and gave us the benefit of his local knowledge.
Many thanks. What a wonderful trip. Had a fabulous time & enjoyed every minute. Guides were brilliant. Cannot recommend them highly enough.
Banteay Srei temple in Cambodia. Small but beautifully formed. The food was marvelous including deep fried insects and of course the home stay.
