Cycle Kerala & Tropical India

The trip was excellent, and very well organized., and we had a lot of fun. All the staff were very helpful and friendly, and explained everything very well

Most Inspirational Moment

Difficult to say, because there were so many highlights.

Thoughts on Group Leader

He was very observant and well organized. He prepared us for the day's activities appropriately. He was very patient with the group. He responded very quickly to any messages that were sent to him on the group Whatsapp. He supported the other members of his team very well.

Cross-Country Skiing in Skåbu

It is several years since I took a trip with Exodus. I believe the holiday I chose this time was only the second departure, it was pretty good!

Most Inspirational Moment

Apart from the sausage lunch in the snow - the food on this trip was fantastic. I hadn't booked because of the gourmet experience, simply for the skiing, but I was absolutely converted - delicious food, and excellent wine to go with it (not part of the price of the trip). The visit to the farm linked to the hotel, to see the old buildings, the hardy sheep in -10 deg C, and to experience the sauna, all the better for having got very cold beforehand.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Absolutely excellent: thoughtful, great skiier, kind and caring. He was very good at reading our skill level and seeing what we could cope with. One member of the party was struggling a bit. Henrik considered whether the group should split, but we were reluctant, and Henrik proved very good at providing confidence building support to the person.

Kerala & the Tropical South

Our guide Vinod was amazing and from the moment we met him the trip was great

Most Inspirational Moment

Tea plantation day and the backwaters but it was all lovely, without the wow factor of northern India

Thoughts on Group Leader

Vinod was probably the best guide we have travelled with. I can't fault anything, he had a great sense of humour and we really enjoyed his company as well as learned so much from him. Nothing was too much bother. He gave us a real insight into southern India.

Snowshoeing in the Dolomites

Communication before the trip excellent, trip leader excellent, the group dynamic was perfect, accommodations were lovely and of course the winter hiking was spectacular.

Most Inspirational Moment

The group dynamic, the challenging hikes, the scenery, the accommodations, Jenny our group leader … honestly the trip could not have been more perfect!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jenny was spectacular!! She “meshed” with group and provided very confident leadership and local knowledge!

Cycle Kerala & Tropical India

We had an excellent tour leader and support team who looked after us very well. The cycling was varied and interesting and the hotels were mostly excellent.

Most Inspirational Moment

The climb up to Ooty and even better the swooping descent the following day! The afternoon and overnight on the houseboat.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Sekhar was an outstanding ride leader. Knowledgeable, organised and always helpful,. Also a lot of fun.

Snowshoeing in the Dolomites

Jenny is an excellent guide and managed very well the different paces within the group. I really appreciate that she gave me the freedom to go ahead when appropriate with clear information about where to regroup, etc. She is also very knowledgeable about the area and provided good information about things we could do with our ‘free’ time. Appreciated the opportunity to try different apple strudel in the huts we stopped at. Pleasant group which always makes a difference. Enjoyed being back at Hotel Adler – very comfortable and nice swimming pool.

Most Inspirational Moment

Thursday where we did the 700m ascent even if it did snow all day with minimal views - it still felt special. Breaking a path through new snow especially through the forests and off the main track was a great experience. As in my previous summer and winter trips visiting the area where the battle of the Dolomite took place is also special.

Thoughts on Group Leader

In addition to what I shared earlier it was clear that Jenny is an experienced mountain guide and this provided confidence that she would take decisions in the context of the local conditions. It was positive that she shared some of her experiences as knowing the person more leads to greater respect for her role as our guide. She took time to explain in an understandable way how to best use our poles and best technique to ascend and descend with our snow shoes - while I have snow shoe-ed befor

Kerala & the Tropical South

Great value for money. Well researched tour itinerary, excellent guide and good travel companions

Most Inspirational Moment

Hill climb in Munnar Martial arts & dancing in Thekkady Houseboat cruise

Thoughts on Group Leader

Nothing was too much trouble. Very knowledgeable, patient and willing to help always with a smile

Cycle the Back Roads of Sri Lanka

Super trip, very well organised and well lead.

Most Inspirational Moment

Cycling country lanes away from main tourist areas and seeing wildlife in its natural habitat. Seeing wild elephants, crocodiles, monitor lizards, monkeys, exotic birds and other wildlife whilst cycling along back roads was truly special. Also, seeing and meeting the locals was a fabulous experience.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Excellent leader, thoughtful, caring and professional. He met the varying needs of the group very well.

Oman Odyssey

We really enjoyed the dramatic contrast in Oman’s geography, which almost seemed to change at every corner, from its rugged limestone peaks, rocky canyons and refreshing wadis, extensive sand dunes through to the sub-tropical coastal plains.

Most Inspirational Moment

Sunset over the golden dunes near to the Arabian Nights Resort and star gazing in the Empty Quarter.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Qais was very experienced and extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Oman. The drivers all spoke good English, and were very friendly, helpful and caring.

Advice for Potential Travellers

It got quite cold at night (low single figures) in the mountains and on the final night of camping in the desert, so recommend cold weather clothing. The trip notes state that there are no washing or toilet facilities whilst camping, but on the first two nights a toilet tent with sit chemical toilet was provided. On the last night, in the Empty Quarter, there were showers (cold!) and a toilet block. Food throughout the trip was tasty, and portions were large, and cheap. We often shared meals between two people, with a meal costing under 3OMR.

Oman Desert Odyssey

Our trip to Oman was unforgettable. With no preconceived expectations, we were amazed by its dramatic mountains, deep canyons, lush wadis, vast deserts, and beautiful coastline. It’s a remarkably safe country, and most people speak enough English to make travelling easy.
We had a few memorable moments, including our tent collapsing at both the beach and the wadi camps due to strong winds. We also witnessed a blue‑green algae bloom that created glowing phosphorescence in the sea, though it sadly left thousands of dead fish along the shore — not the best beach for swimming.
Driving through the desert and exploring the dunes was a highlight, and our desert hotel felt especially luxurious after a night of beach camping.
Overall, experiencing Oman’s diversity and natural beauty was truly special.

Most Inspirational Moment

The endless deserts and wide, dry plains were breathtaking, as were the stunning mosques — especially the one in Muscat.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our group leader was knowledgeable, though at times seemed a little tired and less enthusiastic than some of our previous leaders. The 4x4 drivers, however, were very engaging and happily answered most of our questions along the way.

Advice for Potential Travellers

It gets very cold in the mountains, and the mountain hotel isn’t really set up for winter as it’s mainly a summer property. The desert can also drop below freezing at night, so follow Exodus’ advice and pack warm clothing. I took a duvet coat and even slept in it while camping. Expect the unexpected — the unpredictability of both the trip and the country is part of what makes it so enjoyable.
