Excellent communications from first contact through to booking and final joining instructions. This is my sixth Exodus trip and the quality of guides and itinerary always exceeds expectations.
Most Inspirational Moment
The coastal experiences and hike on the glacier
Thoughts on Group Leader
A passionate guide who took the time to show us his town and explain the local culture. A very dry sense of humour which we enjoyed. When one of our party needed to leave earlier than anticipated, he arranged alternative transport and nothing was too much trouble.
Meeting fellow travellers and Marco, our guide. Marco made this trip complete. The accommodation was excellent and staff couldn’t do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The trip went beyond my expectations.
Most Inspirational Moment
There were so many highlights on this trip. Every day was mind blowing. Would recommend Robben Island. We were shown round by an ex inmate, thought provoking and a sobering reminder of South Africa's distant past. Dolphin watching at Camps Bay sat on the rocks with a coffee. Walking the coastal path at Hermanus (return journey). Zip wire was a thrill. Every corner of the journey brought some wonderful scenery.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Marco was very professional, informative, kind, thoughtful and passionate about his country. He kept us safe and thought about everything. He is extremely knowledgeable about geography, history, floral and fauna and the political situation in South Africa. A very competent and safe driver. Marco always went that extra mile and went beyond his call of duty. Marco made our trip and the whole group loved him to bits. Exodus are very lucky to have him on board.
Superb scenery, great guides and drivers, good food and accommodation. Exodus gives you experiences which are not in ordinary tourist itineraries. They fill each day to capacity with these experiences. The office staff are always friendly and helpful.
Most Inspirational Moment
Visiting the wadis and camping in one. Driving across all kinds of desert terrain. Meeting like minded people and great staff.
Thoughts on Group Leader
He was larger than life, had a great sense of humour and obviously cared about the group. He was also knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his country. He was very approachable and a lot of fun.
The trip was well organised and Quang our group leader was fabulous. We saw so much of Vietnam in two weeks.
Most Inspirational Moment
There's too many to pick! I loved the basket boat ride, seeing Halong Bay and the time we spent in Hoi An. I also loved that Quang took us to meet his family and arranged the dinner at the house in Hue.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Quang was absolutely brilliant throughout the trip. He knows lots about Vietnam and its history and presented things in a very balanced way (often sharing personal experiences). He was well organised and listened to the group when we wanted to express an opinion (a good example being our request to start a bit later one day!). He integrated well with the group and even suggested great places for us to go in our free time (the rooftop cocktail bar in Saigon was a particular highlight!).

Stunning countryside and beautiful wildlife
This was an excellent trip and not too hectic with a bit of downtime in some lovely hotels. Group worked well together.
Most Inspirational Moment
Climbing Sigiriya rock, glamping in Gal Oya, cookery class in Ella. Dambulla cave temples. Boat trip to seen elephants on islands.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Richard was lovely: very kind with lots of thoughtful touches: fresh pineapple and watermelon after long days. A ready supply of toilet paper and hand sanitizer! Temple socks and sarongs provided. Very knowledgeable. about his beautiful country.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Socks for temples: it is not like a mosque where you walk on carpet. You walk on gravel, hot rocks, wet paths. Scarf for dusty Yala. The walk with the chief involves wading so consider waterproof shoes.
Food: it is very spicey so be careful. The home cooking and restaurants outside hotels were happy to reduce spice but not hotel buffets. Be careful with the rice. Recommend Lords in Negombo and Chill in Ella. Jetwing Lighthouse al la carte excellent
From the very start, the trip felt immersive and beautifully balanced. The wildlife in Kruger National Park was unforgettable, spotting elephants, lions, and giraffes in their natural habitat was a real highlight. We were very lucky spotting the ‘Top 5’ and most exciting was seeing 2 leopards to complete the set! I was equally captivated by the more rural, untouched areas, which showcased a quieter, more authentic side of South Africa. The Drakensberg Mountains were simply stunning, with dramatic scenery that felt almost prehistoric, it was a joy to hike around, with next to no one else there. Visiting the historic site of Rorke’s Drift added real depth to the journey. It was a rich, rewarding, and truly memorable experience!
Most Inspirational Moment
Seeing the view at the top of Tugela Falls. We spent the day hiking to the summit and seeing the mountains from the top down takes your breath away. The mountains roll on for miles and you truly feel like you are on top of the world.

Clifford was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history, culture and wildlife of South Africa and Eswatini. He was a fountain of knowledge who could answer any questions we had, as well as telling many stories to bring the place to life!
Advice for Potential Travellers
This is a very adventurous trip but also a busy one. We stayed in over 10 hotels (to see as much of the area as possible) and there were a lot of early starts. If you are going for comfort then this may not be for you, but if you are going for hikes, beautiful views and amazing wildlife, then you'll have a great time!
We have had an outstanding holiday on a Turkish Gulet searching for marine wildlife in the Maldives. Exodus have created an incredible trip. The crew of the Akoya Pearl were superb and made us feel part of a family. Raju cooked us delicious meals and Hassanbe kept our cabins beautifully clean. Alibe, Saudhbe and Muneer ran the Gulet and dhoni with expertise whilst our knowledgeable tour leader, Ubee, gave us unforgettable wildlife encounters. We saw whale sharks, manta rays and teeming reefs.
Most Inspirational Moment
I felt very emotional to swim with whale sharks and manta rays, especially as it was important to Ubee to put the wildlife first. He gave us the etiquette of swimming with them to ensure the animals felt comfortable. He was also successful in keeping us away from the busy tourist times, ensuring we had more intimate experiences.
Thoughts on Group Leader
He is a superb leader and Exodus are lucky to have him. He has the perfect balance of skills to inspire confidence. He is so knowledgeable about the marine life and also his country. He looked out for our well being and was always full of fun and smiles.
