Holiday of a lifetime
From Saigon to Halong Bay we experienced Vietnam and its people and cuisine at close quarters. We felt that if we had done the trip without cycling we would not have seen the real Vietnam. It was fantastic from start to finish, Lam our guide went above and beyond expectations and is a credit to this company.
Most Inspirational Moment
The children in local villages coming out shouting hello hello.
Thoughts on Group Leader
We met a stranger who ended up being a friend, his attention to detail was first class and his organisation was second to none.
Advice for Potential Travellers

Walking and Wildlife in a Stunning, Isolated Setting
This part of Romania is truly breath-taking. Nestled within the Carpathian Mountains, you will not come across any other tourists as you walk through incredible scenery, bumping into shepherds with their herds of sheep and goats, spotting yellow-bellied toads and seeing the odd bear paw-print. A visit to Dracula’s Castle, the city of Brasov and the bear hide trip were all highlights as well, and it was a memorable trip that is recommended for those who like walking and wildlife.
Most Inspirational Moment
The most inspirational moment was watching 8 wild bears look for food in the bear hide, and watching as a playful cub tried to suckle from its mother.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Udo was a fun, informative and friendly group leader. He was always ready to help out anyone with their questions and had a playful manner as well which was refreshing. He also knew his stuff!
Advice for Potential Travellers
Walking poles might be needed as some of the walks can be tough, especially downhill. Overall, just take in the wonderful scenery and enjoy it!

Fun in the Dolomites (Classic Dolomites/ Tough)
Just back from a very pleasant week trundling around the Dolomites. Bit of huff and puff especially in the heat of summer but without too much terrifying exposure. The awesome scenery and beautiful summer widlflowers were intoxicating. Hotel Adler was great as was it’s spa facilities especially the refershing mint shower, the food was delicious, plentiful and beautifully presented and the bar was raided with great enthusiasm every night!
Most Inspirational Moment
It has to be the epic grandeur of the scenery in the mountains. The walk reaches some places where there are beautiful jaw dropping vistas to stare at.

Karl was the perfect choice as a leader. His love and knowledge of the area really illuminated the territory that we were walking through. His recounting of the battles that took place around the area especially Monte Piano brought the history to life. Karl looked after us very well and made sure that we were safe, happy and well fed and watered at all times.
Advice for Potential Travellers
I found that the "tough" week was in fact not that tough especially as there was no extreme altitude to deal with and any reasonably fit person would have no problems reaching the places we went to. We averaged around 7 hours walking a day with an elevation gain/loss of around 1000m.

Vietnam
Well the whole trip far outweighed my expectations, the group was of all ages…..lovely likeminded people. Are group leader com or cong not sure on the spelling he was a lovely man very helpful, however his English was a little difficult to follow at times.
Most Inspirational Moment
There was many inspirational moments of the trip but I guess if I had to pick one it would be the homestead on the Mekong river.
Thoughts on Group Leader
He was a lovely man not 100% sure how to spell or the pronunciation of his name but it was something like Com or Cong. Anyway he was great took us to good restaurants looked after us and gave us a good insight to his home country.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Go with the flow have a good look around the city's the local people are really lovely and so helpful. I for one will be going back.

Wonderful week in the Picos
I wasn’t sure what to expect given that this was my first solo trip and the first time with Exodus. I shouldn’t have worried though, it was a most excellent walking holiday. The scenery was stunning, the hotel lovely, the walking varied, the wildlife and flora beautiful, the fellow walkers splendid company and the tour guide just perfect (see below).
Most Inspirational Moment
Lunch stops in the most breathtaking of locations at (or near) the tops of mountains, with views to die for (and the anticipation of mostly downhill afterwards!).
Thoughts on Group Leader
Alvaro made a good trip fantastic. His enthusiasm and passion for his country, his knowledge of all things plant and animal were great. However, what really stood out was his care for the whole group. Whether a bit slower than others, wanting a shorter walk, a fear of particular situations, Alvaro respected everyone as individuals and treated us all according to our needs and interests. And then when the going got really hot and tiring, Alvaro pulled out 5 two litre bottles of water that had been in the freezer overnight and were now beautiful iced water for all to share.

Do it.

Excellent trip, beautiful views, lovely hotel with great facilities and last but not least a superb group leader
Most Inspirational Moment
Getting to the top of Monte Piano after a challenging climb.
Seeing the WW1 history come alive in the tunnels and landscape
Thoughts on Group Leader
One of the best leaders I have encountered- and as this was my 20th Exodus Trip I have had a few! Karl has a wealth of experience, knows the area like the back off his hand and is helpful and encouraging with everyone. He is friendly and approachable and in his hands I felt very safe. He was accommodating to members of the group who felt out of their comfort zone and helped them achieve what they thought they could not do. In addition he made sure we got everything we could out of our week even down to being on hand on our free day to help folks with their plans. A credit to and a great ambassador for Exodus.
Advice for Potential Travellers
Take walking poles! They were invaluable to me and others even on the non challenging week.
Use the hotel facilities, I am sure it was the swim/steam/sauna at the end of each day that was responsible for the lack of "mountain legs" - never had an ache or stiff legs the next day.

Off track at Venabu
First day “off track” was daunting but by the last day it was fantastic and so so much more exciting. We had great guides from whom I learnt new skills. We were relieved we could cope with the temperatures at the end of March which were perfect for X country skiing. The hotel provided us with plenty of entertainment and was “the” place to be for many other tourists.
Most Inspirational Moment
Being able to ski on open snow across the side of mountains.
Thoughts on Group Leader
Excellent.

Beyond Expectations
Every person at the end of this trip left saying “I wasn’t expecting to have that good of a time.” People said things like “I’ve been on a lot of holidays, and this was the best one yet.” This trip was so incredible, from the actual hiking itself to the views to the hospitality of the hosts of the chalet to the organization of it all to the expertise of the guide.. I could go on. I can’t speak highly enough about it. I wanted to extend the trip another week. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended.
Most Inspirational Moment
My friend and I took the liberty of running any part of the trails that we could (with our guide's permission/advice). After sprinting a section of a trail with an overly qualified expert of the mountains (our guide's husband), with his go-ahead we decided to continue running down the rest of the mountain instead of waiting for the rest of the group and taking the gondola down. It was a steep path down, but we ran it all the way and managed to beat the group back, even though they took the lift. It was one of the greatest feelings.
Thoughts on Group Leader
loves what she does, knowledgeable, accepting of any pace/desired activity level of the group
