A perfect week in Albania!

The itinerary strikes a fantastic balance between spectacular mountain hiking and authentic cultural experiences. Albania’s landscapes are truly breathtaking, with rugged peaks, remote valleys, crystal-clear rivers, and some of the most pristine wilderness I’ve encountered anywhere in Europe!
What makes this trip so special is how untouched it still feels. The hikes take you through traditional mountain villages where life moves at a slower pace, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet locals, learn about Albanian culture, and enjoy delicious homecooked food.
Go now before it becomes touristy like the rest of Europe!

Most Inspirational Moment

Crossing the high mountain passes and the unforgettable boat journey across Komani Lake. Both experiences really showed the raw beauty of Albania and were absolute highlights of the trip!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Menduh was an exceptional guide. His knowledge of the region, history, culture, and mountains was outstanding, and he always made the group feel safe and well looked after. His passion for Albania was clear, and I honestly can't imagine a better leader for this trip.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Go now before everyone else discovers it! Albania still feels authentic and unspoiled, but it's easy to see why tourism is growing quickly. I'd also highly recommend extending your stay. Spend a few days in Durrës after the trip, or rent a car and head south to the Albanian Riviera. It's the perfect way to relax after a fantastic week of hiking and explore even more of this remarkable country.

Lisbon to Algarve Ride

This was a wonderful trip, and the scenery was spectacular! Ample opportunity to experience local cuisine.
We rode e-bikes but a few people had regular bikes. Regular bikes are fine for those looking for a physical challenge, but e-bikes made everything so much easier!
There is a significant amount of riding on unpaved trails, some of it quite challenging especially when encountering deeper sand. For those of us who are experienced with riding on unpaved and/or mountain bike trails, riding this terrain was actually quite fun! However this may be somewhat of a surprise for those used to more of a classic road biking experience.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Our leader, Joao, was fantastic. He was enthusiastic and well-organized. Daily briefings ensured that we were well-informed, and knew what to expect every day.

Advice for Potential Travellers

If you are determined to have a physical work-out, take a regular bike. If you would like a more relaxed ride with the flexibility to "go hard or go easy," an e-bike is the way to go!

Cycling Portugal II

spectacular weather, great scenery, very good group that bonded well

Thoughts on Group Leader

Joao was terrific! Very engaged and informative and great to be around.

Advice for Potential Travellers

This ride included perhaps 40-50% of off road cycling, riders need to be comfortable with that.

Cycling Portugal

Beautiful weather, great scenery, good group.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Dinis did a great job of keeping us informed and engaged. He and Filipe made a great team!

Amazing Bike Trip!

Great Cycling Trip incredible coastline, pastoral and mountain settings… wonderful guide, food, hotels…

Most Inspirational Moment

Arriving at the End of the World!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Jao was the best group leader ever!

Exceeded all my expectations!

What an incredible experience from start to finish! This trip exceeded all our expectations.

Frank was an fantastic guide who made the whole trip run seamlessly, alongside incredible local wildlife experts who knew exactly where to go to give us the most extraordinary wildlife encounters. There are plenty of game drives at different times of the day, so we had plenty of opportunities to see different animals and experience the bush in different ways.

The accommodation was fantastic, full of character and incredibly comfortable with all our group’s rooms having a terrace out to the pool. And the food provided was delicious – with plenty of it!

Another real highlight was the Panorama Route, which completely took us by surprise. The scenery was breathtaking and added another incredible dimension to the trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

Without a doubt, being so close to incredible wildlife in its natural habitat. Nothing can quite prepare you for how special it feels to see these animals in the wild.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Frank was a fantastic local guide, who had a brilliant way of bringing the group together, with plenty of laughs and jokes along the way. He was very knowledgeable, and gave plenty of context around South Africa's history, culture and development. He made the whole experience so much more special and you can tell he genuinely loves being a guide!

Advice for Potential Travellers

Come hungry! The food is amazing and there's plenty of it!

Great Adventure.

A brilliant trip as an introduction to an amazing, varied and vast country. Nearly 3 weeks of mostly off road driving with experienced drivers and our excellent guide Duuree.
Sleeping in Gers which were comfortable and relatively warm but a stove and extra blankets warmed up the coldest of nights. Waking up to snow in the Gobi provided extra excitement.
The Eagle Festival was the highlight of highlights. Watching the hunters from 10-72 proudly parade and fly their eagles was a true privilege. Their willingness to allow people to hold and stroke their precious birds and share their life was a lesson in humility.
Duuree was an excellent guide. She ensured that we were well taken care of in the Ger camps, kept us on track in her lovely gentle way and was by our side throughout to help us make the best of our trip.
Overall a highly recommended trip.

Most Inspirational Moment

Wilderness and culture, and sitting next to an Eagle Hunter and his bird whilst watching the festival.

Duree

Advice for Potential Travellers

Not for those who are motion sick or have back problems because of the rough terrain driven through.

Fabulous Trip!

We were so pleased with the Highlights of Portugal Tour, September 29-26, 2026. Our guide, Carla, is passionate about her country, its history, architecture, culture, gastronomy and the people. We learned so much from her and had fun doing so.
As we were a larger group it would have been helpful to have an audio system since it was sometimes difficult to hear Carla due to extraneous background noise.

Most Inspirational Moment

The grandeur of the Monastery of Batalha.

Thoughts on Group Leader

Enthusiastic ~ Welcoming ~ Well informed ~ Flexible and accommodating ~ A natural communicator

Advice for Potential Travellers

We highly recommend this Exodus tour to others looking for an introduction to Portugal.

It's a cliche but this really was the trip of a lifetime

If you want to see a lot of animals and don’t mind camping and a lot of travel on often bumpy roads, this is the trip for you. We saw all of the Big 5 and the Ugly 5 in the first two and a half days.

Most Inspirational Moment

It is difficult to choose just one... seeing the sun rise over the Serengeti from a balloon (a must do extra), picnicking under an Acacia tree in the Masai Mara, spotting a black rhino in the first 10 minutes of the first game drive, hearing the distant lions roaring across the Serengeti whilst sitting round the campfire, watching the sun set over the ocean from a traditional dhow (another extra)... And a special mention for the rhino in Ngorongoro crater that decided to run over to his family across the road - it's amazing how quickly a traffic jam of 4x4s can make a gap suitable for a charging rhino to get through!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Karey was excellent - organised and experienced (setting up and taking down the camps was like a military operation). When things did not got to plan she adapted well. For example a rainstorm (in the dry season!) caused our canoe tour of Lake Naivasha to be cancelled but she rearranged the tour for before opening time the following day and tweaked the itinerary to ensure we still fitted in everything in the plan.

Advice for Potential Travellers

It was not busy and many of the campsites were offering upgrades to semi permanent tents or hotel rooms but would only take cash. This is a good holiday for photography - take a lot of memory cards and fully charged batteries and a good zoom lens and bear in mind that it will be dusty and can be humid which may be an issue for some cameras. Packing small is more important than light. But don't fill your bag so full that it is difficult to quickly re-pack -there is not much time to get bags on the truck in the mornings. Expect a lot of early morning starts leading into long days - but it is worth it. Be tolerant - as others have said, not everything goes to plan so if the truck needs periodic mechanical attention, the airline to Zanzibar leaves everyone's hold luggage behind or the charging sockets in the truck stop working just relax and go with the flow like the locals do. It's Africa! Finally there was decent mobile coverage for the whole trip. We used an e-SIM that roams to Safaricom in Kenya and Airtel in Tanzania Oh and take toilet roll and a good head torch each.

A Fabulous Week for Many Reasons.

Where do I start……?
The trip was so good for so many reasons! The hikes were different every day, and a lot greener than expected. Some of the scenery was just surreal! The ‘Fairy Chimneys’, underground cities, the pigeon caves; and ‘Love Valley’ was particularly thought provoking!!
The accommodation was spot on, probably one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in on an Exodus trip! The rooms delightful and spotlessly clean, the staff very helpful, the breakfast buffet and couple of evening meals there were good too.
We ate out most evenings at different restaurants which was most welcome, and just a short walk into town.
The group were great fun, we had a few youngsters in the mix ….I say youngsters, they were in their early 30’s and it added an extra dynamic to the whole week. Everyone was very friendly, conversational, interesting and funny. They all made the week that extra special.

Most Inspirational Moment

Many ....... some of the hikes were very special. A real must is to get up early and watch the hot air balloons prepare, take-off and fly; a magical experience! Even better, was taking a flight in one! It cost us 200 euros each, not cheap, but so worth it. It was a very special adventure indeed; especially when there can be up to another 160 balloons in the air!

Thoughts on Group Leader

Aykut was great .....very friendly, very personable. A really good leader and communicator, who looked after the group to the minutest detail. He had an extensive knowledge of the area and Turkey in general. Nothing was too much trouble; and he made the week faultless.

Advice for Potential Travellers

Just go and enjoy..... it is quite a different trip. My wife and I have been on many Exodus adventures; and this is up there with some of the best. Various experiences are very unique to the area! It can be very hot some days, so ensure you carry enough water. Walking poles might be a good option, although the hikes are not particulalry difficult. There are some short steep ascents/descents; and in the dusty sections they can be really help with keeping your footing! Oh ....and if there is a youngster on the trip who is particulalry good with 'AI' ....remember not to mock or poke fun of them. It was very funny, but I paid a price!!! ......you know who you are?! :-)
