Moldova and Ukraine Trip from May 5th 2019

Travelling to this part of Europe for the first time. Looks really interesting especially the visit to Transnistria. If anybody else whos going on this one  wants to drop a line be good to hear.

I was there last autumn. I took a plane to Krakow where stayed for two days and from there to Lviv where was also for two days. In both cities I booked a hotel room, in Krakow I stayed in Angel House which in the city center and in Lviv booked a room in Dnister Hotel. Both cities are quite similar but in Krakow buildings are in better condition, still lots of things to see in both. Then from Lviv I took a train to Uzgorod and Mukachevo where you can take a tour around forttresses and castles in that region (which is called Zakarpatia). And from there I went to Chernivtsi. A university there is so unique and grand, that it can actually take your breath away. There we stayed also two days. We walked around the city, tasted their cuisine and just enjoyed our stay. On the way to Chisinau we visited Soroca Fort (actually along the Dnister river there is a number of grandevous fortresses; as far as I know there is Khotyn fortress (it's in Ukraine but you can visit it if you take a small detour on your way to Chisinau), the above mentioned Soroca Fort, and Bendery fortress (which is in Moldova as well) and Akkerman fortress, which is situated in the mouth of Dnister river). Also take your time to visit Stefan cel Mare Central Park in Chisinau
