I might be on your flight but I'm going for a more relaxed option - no mountains for me, just taking in the sights! I'm flying from Heathrow on Sat eve.

We're going on the Sikkim trip too but flying out to Delhi on 3rd April so we can have a couple of days there before the trip starts. Really looking forward to it now!

Hi Ruth and Jez (and everyone else on this trip of course),

Are you guys taking any precautions against malaria? My GP said it was up to me, I did some research and I got contradictory information: The NHS site (http://www.fitfortravel.scot.nhs.uk/destinations/asia-(east)/india/india-malaria-map.aspx) lists it as "variable risk" but other sources (e.g. http://www.malariasite.com/MALARIA/MalariaInIndia.htm) says Sikkim is immune. Any ideas?

Hi Andy

We're not taking anti-malaria tablets. The medical advice we had suggested we didn't need them and having taken them a couple of times before with not very pleasant side effects I wouldn't choose to take them again unless I absolutely had to. As you say the risk in Sikkim seems to be very low.
