I have travelled with Exodus (and others) before- but have previously had to wait until arrival at destination to see who else is travelling (or to see who turns up to share my room when I went "land only", whick was novel...). This departure lounge seems like a great idea!!
So who else will be on this trip...?
I will be travelling solo- and will be celebrating my (40th) birthday while we are away. I decided that cold London was not the place to celebrate :-) Are there any other solo/or "non couple" people travelling? Not that it's a problem if it's all couples...I'm just SO happy that the trip is now "Guaranteed"....
Looking forward to it.
I'm not sure if my post went through because I can't find it. I'm also traveling solo. This is my first Exodus tour and I'm looking forward to it.
I'm a Canadian currently working in Yemen. I'll be joining "land only".
I'll be happy to toast your 40th in Egypt.
See you soon,
Good to hear from you. Your message did come through but the departure lounge does seem to be having "issues" at the moment- must be the snow we are having in the UK...
I am SOOO looking forward to Egypt. The trip and being away from the cold- I'm sure it gets colder in Canada- but you've been getting acclimatised in Yemen already ;)
Looks like there are about 12 of us at the moment which is a good size group.
My birthday is day 5 so I'm looking forward to spending it in Abu Simbel- I'm sure we will find time to raise a glass at some point ;-))
Looking forward to meeting you in Cairo...
12 does sound like a good size group. This is the first time I've been on an organized tour, so I have nothing to compare. How did you find out how many are on it anyway?
I am really looking forward to Egypt. It's been on the very top of my list all my life. Never thought I'd get the opportunity but also never envisioned myself working in Yemen either!
Looking forward to meeting you in person.
I've been crazy busy- trying to buy summer clothes in a British winter is a challenge...But I should be ok. Just need to get everything in the suitcase now- and keep it below 20Kilos...I'm sure it will be fine. I don't want my case to be heavier than I can lift anyway ;-) . You are quite lucky that you will probably have suitable clothes or at least have shops to get them..or are they quite strict in Yemen?
I got the group size from playing around in the trip pages- on the availability screen you can enter a group size to book- it's not exact as exodus may have people that have booked recently but have not been loaded on the website as yet....As of now I think we are 13...
Egypt wasn't top of my list -that would be Machu Picchu and the Galapagos islands- but Egypt WAS definitely near the top (and fitted my dates) and I'm now SO looking forward to it. Everyone here is quite jealous..hahaha.
If we don't speak before, I will see you in Cairo!
Bye for now.
Actually I work literally in the middle of the desert in a self contained compound so I have no place to shop. I stopped in Dubai, but was with a bunch of men and while they took me to the mall, it wasn't relaxing to shop with them around. I am now in Cairo and while I'm sure there is good shopping here, I'm a little afraid to ask someone to take me as yesterday was very expensive and got talked somehow into buying stuff I neither wanted nor needed. What I wanted was a few scarves for my friends ... what I ended up with was a bottle of "essence" and a bloody piece of art!!! I'll tell you all about it when I meet you.
The weather is actually quite fair here. I'm very comfortable with pants and t-shirt. Evenings are a little cooler, but not bad at all. A sweater or light jacket should do you well.
I hope you get this before you arrive. Have a safe trip and I'll see you tomorrow.
I hope it's not a big piece of art... I look forward to hearing all about your experiences...I'm sure there'll be lots more before the fortnights out ;)
I spoke to Exodus yesterday- to confirm flights- they told me- we are now 15 with 5 land only...maybe I'll bump into the flyers at Heathrow tomorrow...
I am just about ready to leave home. I am staying at a hotel next to Heathrow tonight- I was supposed to leave ages ago but the Gods are against me today....As long as I get a few hours sleep and an early wake up call I'll be happy.
See you very soon.
