From here the route heads eastwards, hugging the Adriatic coast, allowing the perfect opportunity to indulge in some of the long stretches of tempting golden beaches.

Heading into the region of Friuli, you will pass sleepy fishing communes and the fascinating star-shaped city of Palmanova before turning south, drawn by the lure of the Istrian coast.
