Countries visited: Nepal

Adult Group Holidays Moderate / Challenging Cycling Wildlife Culture

Explore the villages and countryside of rural Nepal on bikes, plus Chitwan N.P.

Pokhara lake

Nepal. Famed for its stunning mountains, incredibly warm and friendly people, fantastic food, diverse culture and beautiful temples dotting the landscape. By exploring this incredible country by bike, you can immerse yourself in a huge range of different cultures, climates and landscapes, all in just two weeks.

During the course of the trip you will get to ride in the foothills of the Himalayas, cycling through ancient cedar forests and picturesque farmland, with the chance to explore fascinating old towns and remote temples en route.

Nepal is the spiritual home of Buddhism and during the trip we visit the birthplace of Lord Buddha at Lumbini.

Next we head to the stunning Chitwan National Park and complete an elephant back safari.

Finally we reach the incredible lakeside town of Pokhara, located beneath the towering peaks of the 8000m Annapurna mountain range and the perfect finale to the trip.

What makes this trip responsible?

We have had an excellent long-term relationship with the operator and this helps to stabilise their income generation and so helps to create a more sustainable future. We use local leaders who are committed to responsible tourism and helping to preserve the way of life in their area.  Our local operator encourages all our suppliers to use locally sourced produce and to dispose of waste appropriately to minimise the impact on the local environment. Furthermore, bonfires are discouraged and instead gas stoves are used where possible. Most importantly our local operator will encourage you to interact with the small communities that we visit so you can learn about the local culture and the local communities can feel the benefit of your visit.
Cycling as a means of travel has a minimal environmental impact, particularly as you will be providing much of the power yourself! Many trips venture into remote locations rarely visited by tourists, helping to support and develop traditional communities.
