Adult Group Holidays Challenging / Tough Serious Adventure Walking & Trekking

Discover wonderful protected scrambling routes in the spectacular Dolomites

Equipment used for Via ferrata

This is the perfect introductory trip for good walkers who enjoy scrambling and are looking for a new mountain challenge.

The Sexten Dolomites are an extensive cluster of fine, craggy mountains occupying the northeastern corner of the Dolomites massif, an area which includes many 'jewels' such as the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. This is considered one of the best parts of this vast mountain range, thanks to its stunning landscapes and extensive variety of routes.

We follow classic Via Ferrata routes through tunnels and over high-level bridges, exploring the extensive fortifications that still exist throughout this area - many of which are being restored as open air museums. Although popular with rock climbers, our UIAGM qualified guides safely lead us across the protected Via Ferrata scrambles, such as Toblinger Knoten and Cristallo.

To accompany the superb walks, we also enjoy traditional Tyrolean hospitality at our family-run hotel.

What makes this trip responsible?

Our base for the week is Hotel Tschurtschenthaler, a small family run hotel perfectly located in the centre of Dobbiaco. We have worked with this hotel for many years so all our groups receive a warm welcome from the family. Most of the products are sourced locally and the cuisine draws on Italian and Austrian traditions. We have had an excellent long-term relationship with the local mountain guides who lead the trip and this helps to stabilise their income generation and so helps to create a more sustainable future.
