This part of the world recieves few visitors, making it a perfect retreat for hikers and mountaineers, and the natural triangle of Zelengora, Volujak and Maglic Mountain is both challenging and captivating. Maglic Mountain is Bosnia's highest peak at 2386m and includes gentle pine-forest walking, dramatic rock faces, arduous climbs over rocky sections and scrambling. The view from the ridge and peak is stupendous, across the dramatic landscape of the Bosnian - Montenegrin borders. The forest here hides a world of wonder, with trickling streams, huge trees – some older than 400 years – and very rich flora and fauna. Watch out for animal footprints. Europe's elusive brown bear might be watching...
