Adventure Holidays in Sarajevo

Sarajevo is a fascinating cultural cocktail of various occupying empires. Sarajevo spent over 400 years under Turkish governorship until the Austro-Hungarians arrived in the late 19th century, thus Ottoman and Byzantine references can be found all over the city. And it was here that forty years later, the empire collapsed when Archduke Ferdinand was assassinated, hastening the outbreak of the First World War. During the 1990s the city was besigned and on the point of being wiped out. We visit Sarajevo Tunnel Museum, that provided the citizens of Sarajevo with a lifeline during the 1400-days of isolation. These days the city is largely resorted and the Old Town is filled with pretty cafes, squares and churches.
