The trip was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Every temple and shrine had its own atmosphere and charm, many set amongst peaceful gardens and wooded areas. Although the cherry blossom season was nearing its end, there were still plenty of blossoms and colourful flowers adding to the beauty of the scenery. Everything felt incredibly clean, efficient, and well organised — from the punctual trains to the welcoming hotels. The food was excellent throughout the trip, and the kindness and politeness of the people made the experience even more enjoyable.

Ron Hershey Japan Adventure: Kyushu & ShikokuDelightful variety of experiences, wonderful group leader. This trip was definitely more than the sum of its parts. Many of the visits to artisanal towns, ie, for porcelain, candles and to castles didn’t really resonate with me personally. There were more stays in cities than I would have liked, as I expected this to be more rural-oriented. Yet somehow, the whole experience, with the outdoor-orientation of the group, great food, wonderful hotels, an unforgettable group leader, added up to a trip I’ll always cherish. It was a perfect introduction to Japan for me.
Stephanie Mckay Japan Adventure: Kyushu & ShikokuWe felt that this was a unique trip as it managed to combined culture, cycling and hiking with seamless public transport.
