Anyone else booked onto TPT Nov 13 Solo Dept??

Hi Ive just taken the last place on the Inca Trail on the 13 Nov 13 (UK dept), anyone else going that day?? My 1st trek without friends!!

Hi, I'll be starting this on 13/11 also. I chose the Moonstone Trek option though so I think the intinery is different on the 4 middle days. Also my first one without friends! I must be mad.

Hi there! There's definitely 2 more friendly faces doing the Inca trail with you in both me and Stacy. Don't worry about being on your own either. I've done a few solo trips now and you may arrive without friends, but you will certainly leave with a few new ones. I'm already looking forward to meeting everyone ... it's the on-trek toilet facilities (or lack of them) that's causing me concern!

Haha I'm sure they will be okay, but it says something about a toilet tent. I'm only using it if I go first! ;)

Really looking forward to the trip though, got lots of things to buy. I'm sure I will miss something.

Im really forward to it.. I did Kili in Jan and the toliet tents were fine! Much better option than the longdrops (YUK!).. Need to get into shape though.. Have been a bit lazy since getting back from Tanzania!!

Right, not for the first time in my life, I appear to have joined this party late... But then again, given 60% of the posts involve toilets maybe I timed it just right! ;)

Guessing everyone is getting as excited about this as I am, less than a month now!!

Any experienced walkers here that might be able to give any tips and advise on equipment? Should I perhaps invest in some Kendal mint cake?!!

As a trekking newbie, I've been stealing advice from the reviews, and a friend recommended taking the cocoa leaf tea (despite the taste) that apparently gets forced upon us to combat altitude effects. Though she recommends a Pisco Sour when in Cusco. Dunno about the Kendal mint cake ... I was thinking Haribo myself!

Haribo, Kendal Mint cake, Mars Bars, Dextrose Tablets... all sound good to me!! Is everyone travelling on Lan Chile from LHR??

Haribo it is then! :) Yep, that's my flight - I'll be the one with the rather fetching exodus bag, love a bit of free stuff!

Exodus Bags arent to strong so pack it into another bag which you can leave in the hotel and take exodus bag on just the trek.. Mine fell part after getting down from Kilimanjaro and then had no bag to go onto Zanzibar.. Im still having trouble getting the weight down to 7KG..  Typical female wanting to pack EVERYTHING!

we have booked the inca trail then onto the amazon, our first hiking trip both really looking forward to it and looking forward to meeting fellow travellers.
