Inca Trail questions

Hello everyone,

I will go to Peru in August and I have also booked the Inca Trail for my trip. Some questions arose while thinking about the trek: will I get a kitbag before the start to pack the items I will need for the trek or should I take one with me from home? Will the rest of the luggage be left in the hotel in Cuzco? Is it possible to hire a sleeping bag or should I bring my own? How cold will it get on the Inca Trail at night in August, does anyone have any experience?

Thanks in advance!

HI,I am the operations executive for Peru trips here at Exodus. If you are resident in the UK then yes you will receive an Exodus kit bag before you depart. They are normally sent out about 3 weeks before departure. Most people pack the kit bag inside their normal suitcase or holdall, that way you have  bag for the trek and a bag to leave behind at the hotel in Cuzco. You can certainly hire a sleeping bag, they cost £11 to hire locally and if you want one just let us know and we will get it added to your booking. In August the weather will be fairly cold at night, it shouldn’t drop below freezing, but of course the weather can be a little hard to predict, so I would probably pack some thermals or warm layers for the evenings and at night. The sleeping bags are 3/4 season so are more than adequate for the temperatures you will be getting.I hope that answers all your questions, if there is anything else then let me know. I can be contacted by email on [email protected] or by phone on 08458639643 thanksRebecca CaldicottCustomer Operations Supervisor

I'm also doing this trek but not til Sept (25 days and counting to be precise :-)

Kit bag??? I was just planning on shoving everything in my rucksack...??? Is this something else I need to add to my list of things to do!?
